Story
Meet Petey! Age: Senior Breed: Westie mix Weight: 14lbs Good with: kids (lives with a preschooler and a teen), mellow dogs, cats House trained: almost there! Crate trained: yes but trusted to free roam as well Needs: cozy dog bed and snacks Petey is a gentle, distinguished gentleman who is quite confused how he’s in his current situation. Petey was found as a stray and spent some time in a shelter due to his itchy skin. The folks at Albert’s sprang him loose and fixed him up, helping his fur grow in nicely and provided a much needed dental. Now this cutie is ready for his forever home! Despite his past, Petey is a sweet and calm pup who enjoys being close to his people. He loves to keep tabs on his foster family and enjoys curling up on his many dog beds and taking a snooze. He’s fantastic on a leash (adorable trot and wags his fluffy tail) and would also enjoy a fenced in yard. Petey is great in a car/a great travel buddy. He is SO close to being fully house broken and is fine to wear a belly band when you will gone for long stretches. Petey is friendly with the kiddos in his foster home and while he does not live with a dog he is fine to meet them on walks and enjoyed the ones he met on an overnight stay. He seems more comfortable with mellow pups, he has no time for tomfoolery. Petey was cat tested and did great, was curious but did not chase. He will go into a crate but may take some time to settle, he is fine to roam freely and not destructive so a crate is not needed. What Petey lacks in size he makes up in adorable personality. Are you the lucky person that gets to call Petey yours?! Petey is fostered in Glenview, IL Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Story
URGENT: Can you help me? I need a FOSTER home or an ADOPTIVE home by 11/15/2024. I am currently in Texas awaiting my second chance. Not all pups are lucky enough to get out but, with your help, I may just have that chance! If you can help, please apply online: www.HBWI.org. Meet Sophie, a 7-year-old Westie with a heart as gentle as her snowy coat. This sweet girl was released from a breeder and found herself at the shelter—definitely not the retirement plan she deserves! Sophie deserves a cozy home and a family to give her all the love she’s been missing. She’s a laid-back, loving companion, perfect for someone who’s ready to enjoy the little moments with a sweet, loyal friend. Ready to help Sophie write her next chapter here in Wisconsin? She’s waiting to meet you! FEE INCLUDES: Adopting an adult dog (6 months or older) includes spaying/neutering, vaccinations, deworming, flea & tick prevention, heartworm testing, and microchipping. For dogs under 6 months, they receive age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, flea/tick prevention, and microchipping. All dogs are spayed/neutered by 6 months, covered within the adoption fee. The procedure must be done at one of our partner clinics. To begin the adoption process, please submit an application on our website: www.hbwi.org/adopt. Once approved, you'll have the opportunity to meet our available dogs. Following the meeting, you can initiate a 5-day Adoption Trial, allowing you to take the dog home. This trial period is designed to ensure the dog is a match for you and aligns with your lifestyle. After the 5-day trial, if all goes well, the adoption will be finalized. Additionally, we require a home visit once the dog is settled in its new home to ensure a smooth transition for both the dog and the adopter.
