Story
THIS POST WILL BE REMOVED WHEN THE DOG IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. INQUIRIES ABOUT THE ADOPTION STATUS WILL NOT BE RETURNED. Monkey is a young lad of 5 months, DOB 5/23/24, who left his home and traveled to Nebraska to find a better life. Like others before him, he dreamed of a warm home filled with soft beds and lots and lots of toys! Monkey is learning house training and uses a potty pad about 50% of the time, loves to play with other dogs and toys and will keep himself occupied if the other dogs don't play with him. He loves to watch television enjoying both Animal Planet and Animal Encounters, followed by a long snuggle in foster mom's arms. Monkey is a very smart and happy puppy with all the mischievous habits normal for his age. He sleeps quietly all night in his kennel and when foster mom must leave the house. He would be great in a home with older children as he still loves to play bite and explore everything by putting it his mouth. The suggested adoption donation for Monkey is a minimum of $700 and goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our rescue dogs.Wag N Train Terrier Rescue adopts to an extended geographical area as long as we can locate a local volunteer to perform the required home visit. Approved adopters are required to travel to Omaha, NE to pick up their newly adopted dog. We do not arrange transport, or fly our rescue dogs without a "pet nanny". All of our dogs that come from a commercial breeding facility require a securely fenced yard AND a resident companion dog, unless the dog's bio states otherwise. Please note, invisible or underground fencing is not considered secure or appropriate containment. Adoption applications can be found at www.wagntrainterrierrescue.com/adoption-information

Story
THIS POST WILL BE REMOVED WHEN THE DOG IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. INQUIRIES ABOUT THE ADOPTION STATUS WILL NOT BE RETURNED. If you know Westies, you know Sunday. She's s a typical Westie puppy who enjoys being around humans and other dogs. She is pretty self-confident but is still exploring new sounds and experiences. Some of these she's not too sure about yet but she's at the right age to be exposed to new things for proper socialization. She's working on her skills and would benefit from puppy training classes for skill development and socialization. The suggested adoption donation for Sunday is a minimum of $700 and goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our rescue dogs.Wag N Train Terrier Rescue adopts to an extended geographical area as long as we can locate a local volunteer to perform the required home visit. THIS POST WILL BE REMOVED WHEN THE DOG IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. INQUIRIES ABOUT THE ADOPTION STATUS WILL NOT BE RETURNED. Sloan is slowly coming out of her shell after spending her life until now in a commercial breeding facility. She is very sweet and loves being with her foster canines. Sloan follows them around and finds great comfort in their company. She has begun to discover toys but is still working to build trust with humans. Sloan sleeps well in her crate at night, sometimes barking but quiets quickly. She loves to be outside, walking around and sniffing the yard. Sloan will require a low-key home with a resident dog and a securely fenced yard. Story
Meet Vinny, born in March 2009, a laid-back senior gent eager to bask in the joys of retirement in his own little slice of doggy paradise! Vinny, a Silky Terrier, embodies a kind, sociable temperament that warms hearts wherever he goes. While he adores gentle play with children, Vinny appreciates youngsters who understand the importance of respecting pet boundaries, leaving the energetic roughhousing to them. This mature pup delights in snuggling under the covers and sharing bedtime warmth with his beloved humans, forming quick bonds with new friends. Vinny's amiable nature extends to his furry housemate, showcasing patience and camaraderie with other dogs. Seeking a tranquil home, Vinny would thrive with a retiree, a couple, or a family who enjoys leisurely strolls, cozy TV time, quality family moments, and the comforting presence of a furry friend. Vinny, a lover of keeping laps warm, would benefit from belly bands indoors to address territorial behavior effectively and affordably. Additionally, adopters keen on embracing Vinny's needs should be aware of his occasional mild seizures, managed with CBD oil and Gabapentin. This senior sweetheart yearns for lazy afternoons observing the world from a window perch, snug embraces from his humans, and the serene life filled with love and comfort that he richly deserves. The suggested adoption donation for Vinny is $265. We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the dog’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the pet. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each dog, based on the dog’s needs. If you and the dog are not a good match, we will help you select another dog, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.
