You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Johnny Boy is a 1 yr old Tibetan Terrier Mix. He was only 4 months old when I rescued him from the Escondido, CA Humane Society for being extremely Fearful. Honestly this whole situation blew my mind. I had received a phone call from a lady looking for her dog. During our conversation and me trying to calm her down because I couldn't understand her through her tears. I found out that Johnny was part of an accidental litter, she adopted all of them out and then potential adopters came along for Johnny. She met them on a buzy street in Escondido and Johnny was rightfully scared from what was going on around him and all the new sounds of vehicles passing by. When his owner handed him over to the family's husband he dropped Johnny and this poor puppy took off running. A chase ensued and they finally caught up to a frozen petrified puppy. Nevertheless they decided to adopt Johnny. She thought this family would take care of him for the rest of his life however it turned out to be her nightmare. When she called to inquire about Johnny they told her that he's scared and will not go to any of the family members. She asked them to give him some time to decompress and if things don't work out in a week she will come to pick him up. However, the family refused to give him back to her and said we are going to give him to a rescue then they blocked her from any communication. So I called the family to inquire about Johnny and to try to assist them. They exclaimed that Johnny was beyond fearful and that a rescue is going to pick him up from the shelter. Anyway to make a longer story short, within 24 hours the family surrendered Johnny to the shelter. I actually received an email from the shelter explaining that Johnny was huddled in a corner of his kennel and deficating on him self out of tremendous fear. I immediately replied and pulled this precious puppy from the shelter. Fast forward Johnny Boy is the sweetest and kindest soul ever. It took time for him to decompress at my home, but my dogs showed him that he could trust me. They gave him courage!! He loves playing with the other dogs and he is having the time of his life. I'm very happy that I took Johnny Boy under my wings. Is he fearful Yes, but hes happy, healthy and very friendly with people he bonds with and amazing with other friendly dogs no matter their size. He is kennel trained, very obedient, likes car rides, loves playing with his toys but I have to admit he's afraid of the world outside his home. Johnny Boy, needs a loving person to call his own and maybe even a young dog he can play and bond with which would be a blessing and an added bonus.
