Story
Howdy, I’m Sophie My dad died suddenly, and my sister and I were left to fend for ourselves until someone came to help and realized we needed help, too. It was a scary few weeks, but we are both safe now and hoping to find someone to love us as much as our dad did.  I’m past all those youngster shenanigans and love to cuddle, hang out with friends, and spend time in the sunshine. Walks would be great, and I won’t complain if you have treats to share. If you are a Weim lover, you know we get better as we age! Falling for me... Story
Discover Bee: Our Gentle Soul in a World of Constant Wonder Bee has a heart full of love and a touch of quirk Loves: Predictable routines, the companionship of other dogs, her special selection of toys, and the serenity of a peaceful environment. A Little Shy: With new experiences and loud noises. Bee's Unique Journey - Living in a Familiar Yet Ever-New World: Like the captivating story of "50 First Dates," Bee's life is a beautiful blend of comforting routine and gentle discovery. Her soft, expressive eyes tell a tale of a loving soul who finds joy in the familiar and navigates the new with cautious curiosity. Bee's Daily Adventures: Each day for Bee is a quiet journey through well-loved paths. She finds solace in the predictability of her daily routines, from sunlit morning play to evening snuggles. The company of other dogs is always a delight, as she engages with a shy but genuine playfulness. Her toys, though few, are cherished companions in her tranquil world. Bee's Gentle Approach to Life: While Bee may tread carefully around new experiences and prefers the quietude of her environment, her approach to life is a lesson in finding beauty in simplicity. She reminds us that there's comfort in routine, and even in a familiar world, there's always something new to cherish. Bee’s Playful Side: In the safety of her known surroundings, Bee's playful nature emerges. She might cautiously approach a toy as if it's a new discovery each day, bringing a smile to those who know her well. Bee’s Philosophy: "Life doesn't have to be loud to be full of joy. In the whispers of the familiar, in the quiet play with friends, and in the gentle discovery of everyday things, there's a world of wonder waiting to be appreciated."Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 3, 2024, 1:42 pm

Story
I adopted Mila when she was 3 months old, she is now 2 years old. She is a very affectionate dog. She likes to be given a lot of attention. She is very funny, very happy, and has a lot of energy. She gets along very well with everyone and with children. She has never shown anger problems or anything like that. I want her new home to be with very kind people, who give her the time she needs, like taking her to the park to run and give her lots of love. If you have children, please, Mila is for you. She really loves children and plays a lot with them.

Story
Hunter is a 50 lbs bundle of love and is about 1.5 years old.  He LOVES his humans and just wants to please you and make you happy. He was found in an industrial area begging for food. He would be best as an only dog and in a home with older children.  Donate at codysfriendsrescue.org to help us save more lives! https://codysfriendsrescue.org/donate ##837585##

Story
I'd like to introduce Tater.  He is a big boy, currently weighing in at 115 pounds.  And if you think he looks a little different than your Weim, you are correct.  Tater is actually only 49% Weim, rest is 29% American Pitbull Terrier, 17% American Staffordshire Terrier and the remaining 5% Boxer and Chow.   Tater is a return to rescue after being with an adopter for about 2 years.  There were 3 other dogs in the home and Tater got into a fight with the oldest dog.  No details are available about the cause.  There were no issues with the other 2 dogs in the home, so Tater has been given another chance at finding his forever home, but only as an only dog.  Tater's birthday is on January 1st and he will be 7 years old.  He has a full tail and is neutered.  He is also heartworm negative and the vet has given him a clean bill of health.  He does have to get two more immunizations to be current and these will happen in the next week or so.   Tater has completed a 6-week training course with a dog trainer.  He will walk by your side, sit, and remain in place on command.  He is currently pushing back a bit with some of this training, but this is most likely due to his being unsure of what is going on.  New people, new places, and missing his old home and routines. The trainer is willing to talk to the foster and/or adopter to help Tater adjust with his new surroundings.   Tater is a bit of a velcro dog.  Most of the pictures that have been taken have been close ups.   Tater is currently in the Houston area at a boarding facility, but can be moved to you.   He should be in an only dog situation.  We are unsure of how he is around cats.  Who will give Tater his best birthday present ever - a home? ##1290830##

Story
Isaac is about 4 - 5 years old and is an easy dog to love.  He's a cuddler, well behaved and past the wild puppy stage of Weim life, but still very much a velcro dog!  He was found roaming loose and was taken to the shelter by a good Samaritan.  He's a smaller boned, leggy male with a sleek build and graceful movement.  Isaac loves curling up on the couch with his person and playing with his soccer ball.  He walks best on a harness and loves a sunrise walk. He would likely do best with mature, non-dominant female dogs or a calm male.  He is friendly with both large and small dogs but has a strong instinct to chase cats and squirrels.  He is not a fan of the crate and has been trained to be trusted out with the other dogs.  An Active home where someone is around most of the day would be ideal, as he is very people-oriented and thrives as a member of the household, especially with at least one other dog.  He wouldn't do well in a home where he's crated for long hours.  Isaac was briefly in a home with children when he first came in from the shelter and continued to do well when children come around.  He is currently being fostered in the Austin area if you would like to meet him. ##2172324##
