Story
This boy and his brother were found by a Park Ranger wondering in a field, starving. They were brought to us and nursed back to health. Otto is a bit more vocal and loves attention. He likes to play and is excited about everything. He would be great to have on any adventure and will need an active family to keep him busy. He is just go go go. He is just a baby who needs lessons in all things puppy and the patience that goes with it. He is learning not to jump up on people but will need help with it so small kids will need to be careful. He acts before he thinks, just like a small kid. He is just a sweet, fun pure puppy that is ready for a family to love fully and be with forever. He is in Tennessee but can be transported to you through Rescue Riders.

Story
Hola!! Mi amo Winona, como esta??? I am doing pretty well! Except I am still looking for my furever family.... :( I was found as a very very young puppy, with my siblings on the side of the road. No one knows where my mama is... unfortunately in the south LOTS of "people" would rather kill the product of unaltered female and male dogs than actually just get them spayed and neutered......... and very likely that is why we were left so carelessly on the side of a road at 2 weeks old.... just to die... Anyway, off my soapbox because so so many people and rescues in the south are working hard to overcome stupidity and do the right thing so it doesn't happen to other pups! I am a sweet and really gorgeous girl. My siblings and I looked very pittie and weimaraner size/temperament and personality wise. I have a gorgeous apricot colored coat with some blonde highlights (the kind you get at a fancy hairdresser :), mine were FREE :) I am now 3.6 yrs old and in my maturity I have stopped all the puppy antics- no chewing, barking, digging, peeing or pooping all over the place for me!! i am well mannered, will hang out with you while you work and then we can go for a walk or a run and then binge watch Masterchef (I LOVE ME some GORDON RAMSAY!!) until we get sleepy! That is my ideal day, so if you are down for hanging out with me all the time, fill out the adoption application and just give me happy and loving home please!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Story
So my foster mom named me Jager (after one of her favorite drinks... JagerMEISTER....) I am not sure why I remind her of drinking... but I definitely prefer a name and a foster home with food EVERY DAY and LOVE with ALL KINDS OF STUFFED TOYS to starving on the streets....so call me whatever you want foster lady, I am OK with it!! I am a busy boy, with the most SWEET nature. I LOVE toys and other dogs and would really be best in a home with a playful friend and kids too? I even like kitties!!! I will promise to be a good boy and love you as much as you will love me :) I am a Weimer/hound mix we think!!! Hard to tell my breed mix, I have the most GORGEOUS SILVER fur but it is very hard to identify what my mom was and what my dad was.... we generally call it San Antonio Street Special- and I am SPECIAL! ADOPT ME, I AM WAITING FOR YOU, I can even bring my OWN TOYS TOO :) Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.     Sadie is a comical, quirky, and spunky girl. She came from a neglect case in rural Kentucky, where she and other dogs were found abandoned and starving in an outdoor pen. Sadie is fortunate to be alive! Sadie is spunky when she is outside. Inside the house, she loves to curl up in a blanket on your bed or be cozy in a dog bed. Sadie loves bully sticks and will work them down as a beloved pastime. Sadie is well-behaved in the house, housebroken, and quiet. When she sees something out the window, she may alert vocally though! She is approximately 7.5 years old and weighs about 40 lbs. When outside, Sadie loves to zip around and explore. She does need a 6-foot fence as she can climb over a 4-foot fence. Sadie loves to go to the dog park and her favorite activity is to bark at other dogs in hopes that they will run so she can chase them.  Sadie is also a squirrel enthusiast so she will tree them and bark, both  in the yard and at the dog park, so sometimes she does need to be re-directed. Sadie loves to chase and bark at other dogs. She does not harm them, though she likes to dominate them like this to get them to play her game.   Sadie zips around like a racehorse at times and is agile and free. She goes from zero to 40 in about 3 seconds. Sadie is a joy to watch at the dog park, just keep walking (taking the lead) and that refocuses her energy! Sadie does have a little random incontinence (likely due to her age) and is on a medicine called Proin. She takes half a tab twice a day and it seems to help her greatly.  Sadie is a bit of an alpha, but can easily live with other dogs, and does mingle with all kinds of dogs at a dog park. Sadie is good with other dogs, older kids, but no cats for Sadie. This senior gal is very lovey-dovey, and loves to be pet, pampered, and smooched. She has a soft, yet also spunky nature and exudes sweet southern charm. Sadie is definitely one of a kind! Interested in adopting? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $250 plus taxBono is currently in boarding while we continue to search for a foster or adoptive home. While boarding is safe it willl never compare to laying on a soft bed in his own home. Let’s get Bon into a home where he can build human connections and thrive!Meet Bonnaroo AKA Bono! This handsome fella needs a strong, gentle pack leader who will not allow him to be in charge.  Yes he is a big boy and can be a bit overwhelming to some but when he knows you are the boss because you guide him to do the right thing, he is all yes ma’am, yes sir.  He will need continued training and yes, we have a trainer already set up to work with him.  We just need a adopter or foster who is willing to put in the time for socialization and training.  He will thrive in an environment that has boundaries and expectations for him to follow. He is true to his people and although needs a minute to be ok with strangers, once he is comfortable, he is all snuggles and happy wiggles. He is housebroken and crate trained and walks well on a leash.  Right now he prefers to be the only dog in the home.  He can be around other dogs, but is a bit awkward and wants to show them he is the boss.  Yes, the trainer will help with that. Look at that face…. Won’t you help Bonnaroo be all he can be?? If you have applied with us in the past, simply email us to reconnect at placement@midwestanimalrescue.org.   Let's get this big guy home!!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. //

Story
Cowabunga Dude!   Meet Rafael! He was born approximately March, 2024.  He came from a litter of 4. They named the puppies in the litter after the four Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!  We welcomed him into our home as our newest foster when he was around 5 weeks old. He was so tiny at 3 pounds that you could put him in your pocket. Boy has that changed! Today he weighs about 30 pounds! He's such a cute little snuggle bug. He loves to play and wrestle with his foster sister Wasp. He does great with our other two resident dogs as well! He's super friendly with everyone he meets. We're still working on the house training though. He will let you know when he needs to go outside to use the bathroom but if you don't stop what you're doing right away and let him out, he'll decide to just do his business wherever he's standing. He sleeps every night in crate with no issues at all. He gets along great with our children ages 8, 12, and 14. They love to sit and give him lots of love and attention. He'll even lay down and take naps with them while they're watch TV or playing video games.  Come check out Rafael and maybe you'll hit it off and your home could be his furever home!   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee:    $550.00Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 17, 2025, 2:47 pm
