Story
Charlotte is a Weimaraner mix, born May 2023.  She is crate trained and used to being kenneled when home alone.  We're not sure how she'll do around other dogs, but she does get along with new people and kids of all ages.  Charlotte enjoys being active and needs a fenced yard with room to play and spend time with family.  Are you ready to give this sweet girl a new place to call home?! The suggested adoption donation for Charlotte is $400, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Story
Being a German Shorthair & Hound mix, you can imagine that ol' Oscar is a lover of the outdoors! This sweet boy was born in May of 2015 and is still looking for a place to call his own. Oscar enjoys being around people, especially ladies, but he understands what it's like to need some space: your time, my time, and our time! Oscar experiences anxiety and because of this, boundaries are important to him. When his anxiety is low, Oscar is a goofy, playful boy who likes to chase balls, sticks, and rabbits. He loves, loves, loves long walks with plenty of time to let his hound nose get some exercise, and lots of exercise helps work off that extra energy that can make this handsome boy nervous! Because of his love for exploration, Oscar will need a fenced-in yard to keep him close to home. Oscar is not kennel trained, but is totally fine being left to lounge around the house while you're away; he's also housetrained so no worries about that business! Oscar is a very smart dog who knows "sit", "stay", "lay down", "leave it" and he also knows that when he follows these fun words he gets really yummy treats! Oscar's ideal home will be with an active person/couple who love to explore nature, just like he does, and who will love him like family while respecting his need for boundaries and independence! The suggested adoption donation for Oscar is $315.  We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.  Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes. Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the dog’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match.  If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the pet.  The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note:  We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter.  We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. Story
This sweet girl is Annie, a Catahoula Leopard/Pitbull mix, born approximately December 2020.  Annie is housebroken and crate trained.  Her kennel is her safe place - she sleeps in her kennel at night and goes back in at the end of the day when she's ready for bed.  During the day, she enjoys a walk or two, playing fetch in the backyard or hanging out with her canine friends.  She also enjoys spending time lounging on the couch, chewing a Nylabone or looking out the window.  She is a pretty independent lady, but will enjoy snuggling with you on the couch at night.  Annie only has 1 eye, but that doesn't stop her from having the zoomies in the yard or catching a tennis ball!!  Annie would do well with someone that works at home and she prefers women.  She's a little nervous around new people and needs slow introductions.  She does well around most dogs, but is a little reactive towards some when out walking.  Annie knows some commands and did a Board & Train program in the fall of 2022.  She has a lot of potential and will benefit from continued training.  This girl wants to become part of your family today! The suggested adoption donation for Annie is $350. In 2021 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $307,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue, and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Story
Say hello to Lucy and Ricky, a bonded duo looking for their dream place to live out their golden years!  Lucy is a Australian Cattle Dog mix (born Dec 2015).  Ricky is a Pointer mix (born Jan 2018).  They are timid dogs, but will be your best pals once they trust you.  Lucy is Ricky's emotional support dog and he just loves to be around her.  They need a home with a fenced yard and they would be okay with another canine friend in their forever home!  Here are a few more fun facts: *Good with kids               *House trained *Low energy                    *Quiet/don't bark much (inside or outside)              *Curious about cats, but easily redirected when they're called away (it's mostly Lucy that is curious about them)  Tthey are trained to stay off furniture so they don't even try to get on furniture  *They don't counter surf for food     *They respect each other's beds and food *They leave the trash alone and don't chew on anything that is out around the house *They have done great with people they haven't met coming in and out of foster's house- no growls or aggressive barks (just a bark when the doorbell rang, but they went right up to the person, sniffed and then rubbed against them). *Ricky is more timid and will watch Lucy to determine if he wants to join in something.  *Lucy likes to follow her foster mom around the house to see what she's doing, but if it's not exciting to her, she will go back to her bed and lay down.  *These two are seriously the ideal dogs!   Please help us find them a home today!! The suggested adoption donation for both Ricky and Lucy is $700. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.
