UPDATE on BEAU – The Perfect Adventure Companion!
Beau has been settling in wonderfully as a foster and is ready to find his forever home! He’s a well-behaved, affectionate pup who loves long walks and exploring new places. He’s a big fan of the Atlanta Beltline and enjoys hanging out at Muchacho, our favorite Taco spot. This coming weekend we are going on a hike at Providence Canyon State Park.
Beau is phenomenal with other dogs and warms up quickly to new adults. He’s a great companion for someone with an active lifestyle and would thrive in a home where he can get plenty of exercise and attention. If you’ve been on the laptop too long, he will let you know.
While he’s friendly and social, he does get a bit tense around little kids and high-noise environments, so a calmer “Adult” home may be the best fit for him. His reaction to cats is still unknown.
If you’re looking for a loyal, adventure-loving snuggle bear, Beau might be the perfect match!
*************
Beau is a gorgeous 7 year old, neutered male Weim who is a true Velcro shadow. He loves to be with his people and will follow you from room to room. He takes treats very gently and is very smart and alert. Beau loves everybody!
Beau loves to run and play fetch in the yard and especially loves his walks! He will curl up next you on the couch, whether you like it or not!
Beau needs a home without small children because he is nervous and not appreciative of the activity that surrounds young kids and can be reactive. We will not consider any home with children under the age of 12.
He does great at doggy daycare and his nub of a tail sends him into "weim butt wiggles" when he sees other dogs! However, he can be a "resource guarder" in the home, so he'll be okay in a home with other dogs, as long as there are no toys to claim as his own - and we would suggest feeding in separate areas or in his crate.
He has not been around cats, but would be very cautious since he was not socialized to cats at a younger age.
In his original home, he did great in a kennel when his family was away from the house. He was a little restless at first , but calmed down quickly and waited patiently for his family to come home. However, he has not been crated for a while, so he will need to be reintroduced to the crate, however, he is fine left out when home alone.
