Story
Update from Boomer's foster family: Boomer is a strapping boy with beautiful, floppy Weim ears who is very adaptable, loving and a huge cuddle buddy. He’s a counter surfer of note, a squirt bottle does the trick. He’s very smart and learns really quickly and we’re amazed at how quickly he’s adapted in 4 days to our schedule. He’ll make a wonderful dog for an active family with older children. Welcome Boomer! This handsome, very sweet, and very intelligent approx. 2-3 yr old fella with a docked tail is 77 lbs of energy. Boomer loves everyone he meets! He was surrendered to rescue at no fault of his own. Boomer is housebroken, rides great in the car, and doesn't mind sleeping in his crate although a dog bed in the bedroom is also a great option. (NO cats!). Boomer is protective of his stuffies/toys and food, so he prefers to be an only dog! Boomer will need a family that can provide him with lots of exercise and no small children as he would knock them down. If you are interested in adopting Boomer, please submit an application via our website: www.atlantalovesweims.org

Story
Update on Charlie from his foster: Charlie Dean is a bundle of love. His tolerant behavior is truly remarkable. You can simply drop his medicine in his food bowl, and he’ll gobble it right up. He sits patiently for eye drops without pulling away, and even though he isn’t a fan of shirts, he will stand still and lift his paws to help put them on. What a great little helper! Charlie adapts quickly to new routines and loves brisk, long walks where he can sniff around and catch up on the local gossip! He stays on the path and moves in sync with you like a true gentleman. While he might pull a bit from excitement, he checks in regularly and makes an effort to slow down. We're still learning together! Charlie is also very tolerant of various sounds and large moving objects. From inflatable costumes and garage doors to foldable chairs, vacuums, and even the excitement of yelling at live sporting events, he takes it all in stride! He truly shows his team spirit while supporting his favorite team! After our walks, Charlie loves to cuddle up on the couch—by invitation only! Like I said, he’s quite the gentleman. Although he enjoys lounging on the couch and sleeping in bed with you, he only joins if invited. What a polite communicator he is! With gentle excitement, he uses his toys and sitting position to let you know when he’s hungry or needs to go potty. Bonus: when he sleeps in bed with you, he’s like a rock, finding the perfect spot so everyone stays comfortable. So thoughtful! Charlie Dean is the sweetest dog I’ve ever encountered. Calm and affectionate, he seeks out your space and love. He listens well to simple commands; “Go lay down,” and he goes to his bed, while “Go to bed” sends him to his crate. He also adores car rides and settles down nicely if given a soft space to lay down. Charlie Dean is truly a diamond of a dog. His ideal forever home would be with an active family that enjoys daily walks to fuel his curiosity. A fenced yard would be perfect for him to run and play fetch. He deserves a home that allows him to rest and soak up all the gentle love he enjoys so much! Looks like he’s ready to meet his new family! If you are interested in learning more about Charlie Dean, please submit an application on our website at www.AtlantaLovesWeims.org/adopt ************************** Welcome Charlie Dean to the 1st Day of the BEST REST of your life! Charlie Dean is a 5 year old, male, neutered Weimaraner that is coming to us from Dorchester Paws, near Charleston, SC! He is HW negative and up to date with all his vaccines! Charlie is a sweet boy that just want's some lovin'! He seem to know his basic commands like "sit" and "come"... and if you check out the video, he even knows how to "shake"! And if that wasn't cool enough, he is ok with cats! Charlie has a condition called, Hypotrichosis - which is similar to Alopecia. The main difference is the Alopecia is total absence of hair, while Hypotrichosis means that Charlie does have some hair on his body - but he'll still need a sweater when the weather cools off - which makes him the perfect model for your knitting or crochet hobby! We will update you once he has settled into his foster home and has another check-up with our vet to make sure his skin is in top shape!

Wait until you see Obi!!! Obi is a very handsome, sweet 8 yr old boy that was surrendered to rescue because his family's work scheduled changed and they could not provide the time and attention that Obi needed. Obi is good with other dogs, preferably submissive other dogs, is housebroken and loooooooooooooves his people. He's even good with CATS!!!! Obi rides well in the car and lived with children. Obi does have separation anxiety so his new family will need to be home most of the time, have a fenced yard, and can provide lots of exercise and love.

Story
BRUNO NEEDS A FOSTER! Please read below to see if you may be a fit for this big guy! Welcome Bruno! Bruno is finally in Rescue thanks to our phenomenal village of volunteers and AWCR Family! Bruno is an 8 month old, male Weimaraner with “Mark of the Hound” coloring who is trying to find his people in the world. He was surrendered after being taken in by a well-meaning family from a breeder that was unable to find a home for him. Unfortunately, the move from his original home to a new place where he knew no one, traumatized his poor brain because he was out in the world alone and outside after growing up with his siblings who all were eventually sold to their new family. Bruno, however, was the last one in the bunch and had no interest by potential families. As a result, he was very cautious and afraid to interact with people – and it took a few days to work through his anxiety. As he started waking up from his snooze in the car, he began to explore the exam room, taking a few minute naps, coming closer to our team and even nuzzling up and joining us on the sofa for a few minutes. He was a champ with his vaccines and is loving the attention from everyone – even if a little cautious! Bruno had quite a stressful day – but he never once growled or showed any threatening behaviors… he was just scared and by the time we left the vet, he was taking treats gently from our hands and was enjoying the ear and face rubs! He let us touch his teeth (which are still glowingly white!), paws, ears and even let the vet feel his “man parts” to make sure all is well (he’ll be neutered once he settles in at his foster or adopted family). Bruno needs a home, that will help him learn to be a family Weim and teach him that he can trust humans – which we think he will learn quickly! He wants to interact and be loved on, but he’s just not sure. The ideal home will be one that will be patient with him and allow him to “blossom” at his own pace, as he learns to navigate his new environment. He would love a doggy companion that will teach him the ropes. He’s a big boy and will get bigger (his paws are huge!), so we recommend no small children or small animals (because we don’t know enough about his prey drive). Once he is more confident in his skin – he’ll remind you that he is still a puppy and will need all the things a Weimaraner puppy needs – specifically, lots of exercise – so an active family is a must! It's a tall order, we know, but we want the best for this sweet boy! If that’s you – send us an application at www.AtlantaLovesWeims.org/adopt
