Story
Update from Boomer's foster mom: Boomer has settled in nicely with his 2 Weim foster brothers; he learned the dog door immediately, is housebroken, rides great in the car, and doesn't mind sleeping in his crate although a dog bed in the bedroom is also a great option! Boomer met some other Weims over the weekend and he did great! Boomer and his new friends did zoomies all afternoon and then settled down on the deck enjoying the cooler weather. Boomer will definitely need a family with Weim/high energy dog experience and no small children as he would knock them down. Welcome Boomer! This handsome, very sweet 2 yr old fella with a docked tail is 77 lbs of energy. Boomer loves everyone he meets! He was surrendered to rescue at no fault of his own. Boomer is housebroken and is great with other dogs (NO cats!). Boomer will need a family that can provide Boomer with lots of structure and exercise.

Story
Update on Charlie from his foster: Charlie is an amazing boy. He was only with us for five days but in those few days he became a relaxed, joyful part of our household. He learned all commands, including understanding that a gentle, “get out of the kitchen” meant he was to leave the room and sit on the back door carpet where he could watch the food prep but not partake-as he surely wanted to. He’s simple and easy going and a very quick learner. He loves a walk (though could use some work on the leash-maybe a gentle leader?), time in the backyard, and a good long game of fetch. He’ll sit for a treat and gently take it from your fingers. He rolls over for a tummy rub but his absolute favorite is a long rub under his throat. He will make a wonderful shadow, wanting to participate closely in whatever his humans are doing. He loves other dogs and gets along well with cats. In fact, I think he’d like to be close friends with a cat. He’d be happy with another dog but at the very least will be so happy to have humans to call his own. He loves to be social. Ultimately, he is excellent. He will easily enfold into your life and you will be happy to have the chance to love him. Looks like he’s ready to meet his new family! If you are interested in learning more about Charlie Dean, please submit an application on our website at www.AtlantaLovesWeims.org/adopt ************************** Welcome Charlie Dean to the 1st Day of the BEST REST of your life! Charlie Dean is a 5 year old, male, neutered Weimaraner that is coming to us from Dorchester Paws, near Charleston, SC! He is HW negative and up to date with all his vaccines! Charlie is a sweet boy that just want's some lovin'! He seem to know his basic commands like "sit" and "come"... and if you check out the video, he even knows how to "shake"! And if that wasn't cool enough, he is ok with cats! Charlie has a condition called, Hypotrichosis - which is similar to Alopecia. The main difference is the Alopecia is total absence of hair, while Hypotrichosis means that Charlie does have some hair on his body - but he'll still need a sweater when the weather cools off - which makes him the perfect model for your knitting or crochet hobby! We will update you once he has settled into his foster home and has another check-up with our vet to make sure his skin is in top shape!

Story
Coming Soon! Meet Cash! Cash is an 11 month old bundle of Weim that would love to be your running buddy! Cash is an active young boy that needs an active family where he'll get lots of exercise, and because he's a typical Weimaraner puppy, he needs some guidance to work on his manners and basic commands. We recommend no small children because he's very excitable and can easily knock over a small child because he doesn't realize his size - yes, he's a clumsy, typical young Weim! Plus, he's very smart and learns quickly! Cash is housebroken and crate-trained, but not good with cats! He gets along well with dogs that can handle his puppy energy! He loves to play with other dogs and can be rambunctious when he gets too excited, so may not be best with more senior dogs that don't like a lot of activity. Cash is definitely a work in progress, but he's a good boy who just wants to please and be a part of your family! If you are interested in fostering or adopting Cash, please complete an application on our website at www.AtlantaLovesWeims.org/adopt. If you have completed and app in the last 3 months, please send us an reminder email letting us know you are interested in fostering or adopting Cash.

Story
Welcoming 10 mos old Sadie to rescue. Sadie was surrendered by her family because she was too high energy for the small children in the house. She had been crated all day while the family was at work and then crated again at night. It's really no surprise this beautiful blue Weim mix girl is full of energy. Sadie is housebroken, loves to play ball, is okay with older children and good with other dogs (cats unknown). Sadie's new family will need to provide tons of structure, exercise, and her favorite belly rubs. (Sadie is being spayed today 10-3-24).
