**Adoption visits are by appointment only** If you see an animal you're interested in, fill out an adoption questionnaire on our website https://everettwa.gov/161/Adopt-a-PetAzula is an active young pup who needs a home committed to her on going training and socialization. She can be cautious at first but warms up quickly. She will need a proper introduction to any resident pets. Azula currently weighs 40 pounds.Wandering Rover Report: Azula is a very sweet girl and gives gentle kisses. She is very curious of the world and her surroundings but a little timid of new situations. I think she would make a great family dog with some basic obedience skills and consistency. She was such a love to hang with.Another Rover said "We spent the day walking in the trails getting all the different smells and went and saw the beach. She also got some breakfast and a pupcup No she was great Azula is an amazing puppy! She's 6 months old but definitely super calm for being that young! She was hyper for the first hour but after that she settled down nicely with us in the car! She walks pretty well on the leash and only pulls a little bit but that will be easy to correct with her still being a puppy! She definitely needs an active lifestyle and would make a great hiking or hunting buddy as she was sniffing around the entire time on the trail! She does like to jump up on you and other people walking by but again she's a puppy and will be so easy to train! She's very food motivated and can already sit and wait!"

Story
Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue is a registered 501(c)3 Web Site: www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APPLICATION before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thank You for your cooperation*** Please read listings fully to the end before applying for one of our beloved rescues. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog. We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes in WA state, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle, or cash. We no longer accept PayPal because of the percentage they take & their fees but if the potential adopter is willing to pay the fees & charges we will accept PayPal. What Curly experienced & endured is incomprehensible. Curly was part of a breeder dumping dogs. She actually wanted Curly & many others gone immediately in Indiana but was willing to work with us. She claimed to of had Curly as a puppy so this was all he had known. We have to move fast because unfortunately in these situations, when they want them gone, there is no messing around for their health & safety. Being breeding dogs they are money making machines only & their time had come to an end with this breeder. Beautiful Curly & his other 9 friends were living outside all day & night in cages & only brought out from the cages to breed & go back into them. Once we knew about them, there was no way we were leaving them there. We organized to rescue all of them & our wonderful team drove & picked up everyone. Of course they were all so filthy & stinking so badly & some were matted to the skin & needing grooming immediately & medical care. She did not care & just wanted them gone. She said she was going to stop breeding dogs because she was pregnant but unfortunately it was not the case. Rescuing the breeding dogs is an extremely expensive situation each time & it involves a lot of expenses in transportation & so much medical. Now the real healing, love & devotion could begin & show Curly how he is supposed to be loved & adored in a loving forever home & his other friends. Curly was bought back to WA state where he is now so happy to be here & can’t wait to find his new loving devoted forever family. He is such an amazing soul even though humans have been so bitterly cruel to him. His world changed within hours of a phone call & a car ride along with his friends. No more living outside for this sweet boy in a cage. Curly is a very soft gentle soul & at the same time so full of life love. He likes to lay with you & can't be happier being petted & touched once he knows & trusts you. We had to work on building this trust & confidence because all he knew was the cage he lived in outside. He gets very attached to his people. Let’s face it, he now knows what love is & he now gets to experience what love, devotion & a safe environment is. He will go up to his foster dad for kisses & love. He would need time of course to adjust to his new forever home & patience. He enjoys sleeping on the bed with you or a pile of blankets with his foster siblings. He loves sleeps with his foster family in the bed with them & sleeping with his foster siblings & snuggling either them. He eats a clean diet in his foster home with raw proteins, vegetables, fruits, cooked grains & supplements. He also likes bully sticks & collagen sticks. He does wonderful on this diet. Curly’s new forever home must have a fully fenced secured backyard for his safety. He enjoys going out into the backyard & running freely. We tested Curly in a daycare & helped him build his confidence & now he has flourished. He adores both woman & men & especially men because a woman was cruel to him. Curly was so matted to the skin that when we picked him up from the breeder he had many nicks & was bleeding from the breeder shaving him to the skin. Curly has been great with his baths because he started having them with us the moment he was rescued so he is used to them now. We don’t think he was receiving b stud prior to us. He is used to being dried with a hairdryer. He will just let you dry him. He is wonderful with being groomed. His foster mum cleans his ears out regularly & he does really well having his ear cleaned considering we don’t know if they were ever previously done. He has put on a lot of weight since being in the rescue. Curly rides well in the car & enjoys a good journey & will sit next to you with his dog’s friends. He still needs work walking on a harness & leash as he had never been taught. He still needs work & encouragement though. We are looking for a forever home for Curly where someone is home during the day or he can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them. We are also looking for a crate free home for the little lad only. He absolutely will go crazy if put into a cage & who can blame him? He was left in a cage until we rescued him. Curly is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be patient with him. Curly has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & was fostered with other dogs in his foster home & enjoys their company. He absolutely loves dogs & adores playing with them & must go to a forever home with at home with another playful dog in the home. He even loves playing with puppies. Please do not say your neighbors have a dog or family members as that will not work, the home must have another dog for him to play & be with. Curly is roughly 5 years old 15 lbs & is an Irish doodle & what he is mixed with we are not sure at all. He is having a dental scale & polish & dental x-rays. He is male, being neutered my laser, microchipped, up to date on his shots, including DHPP, bordatella, rabies & dewormed. Curly has not been around cats since being in the rescue nor children so we do not recommend either. But it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together. We have not had him around small children. But we do not recommend small children nor cats & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children. We were not there when Curly was conceived so we do not know who his parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. We have so spent far more on Curly with all of his medical, neuter by laser, dental, shots, bring him to WA state with travel fees, food etc than his adoption fee even comes close to touching. We are so financially in the red from rescuing him but he is so worth it. As with all of our rescues & Curly friends & siblings he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Curly potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Curly has been through many traumas in his short time on this earth so when applying this needs to be kept in mind & for his care. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Curly & going through our process and have read his listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit due to covid & followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Bentley who understands his needs & that meet all the requirements for this spirited little lad. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. Curly has an adoption fee of $1250 & is ready for his truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what he has been through.
