Story
If I was a vehicle, I'd be one of those cool, jacked up dually pickup trucks - perfect for on or off road adventures. Instead, I'm a jacked up Vizsla mix - big, powerful and outdoor loving.
But I also enjoy being inside near my people. I'm playful, affectionate and get along with both humans and other dogs. Hey, I even love cats. Unfortunately, they're afraid of me.
I admit I can be a bit shy when meeting men, but give me a treat and I'm yours. If you pet me, that's the best! My favorite spots are on my back and sides. I'll lean on you, or lay on your feet to show you my appreciation.
And speaking of appreciation, walk, did someone say WALK? I also love playing with my stuffed animal toys. Fetch is equally high on my list. Soccer is even better. I'm a speed demon as I enthusiastically push my soccer ball all over the yard. Think that guy Beckham was good? I'm ready for Manchester United.
Of course to really understand me, you have to know my story. My foster parents found me only a short time ago. I was abandoned, alone and scared. My last owner dumped me. I was crushed.
Not to say bad things about anyone, because I'm an upbeat dude, but I wasn't taught much 'til now. So I've got tons of potential, but also some things to learn. Luckily I'm good-natured, love food and am smart. That makes me a quick learner. I have the whole crate thing down and am making good progress on house training. Still, I'm kind of a goofball and don't always know my own strength. That means I'm still learning not to pull hard on the leash or jump on people. So tempting when you're happy.
Yes, I'm loving my new life. My fosters know that I am young and have energy to burn. So they let me out in the yard where I can dash around playing with other dogs. I'm super fast. Even that hero, The Flash, might have trouble catching me. Race?
About the only thing that bothers me is garbage trucks. They make such awful noises! I, on the other paw, am much quieter. I'll bark at those pesky trucks, or while playing, but that's about it. So I won't keep you, or the neighbors, up all night.
Another thing you'll like about me is is that my fur is a smooth, rich chocolate color. I barely shed or need brushing. Look into my beautiful, light brown eyes and, at different moments, you'll see sadness about my past, or joy and hope about my future.
Basically if you adopt me, you are getting a Love Bug in a sporting dog's body. I'll do best in a fenced yard where I can stretch my legs. I'd be thrilled if you have other dogs for me to play with. But please don't keep me outside full time. Like most people, I crave love and attention.
Yes, I'm a work in progress. But I'm also happy go lucky, great looking, fun to hang with and eager to please. With a little time, patience and training, you will be rewarded, not just with a fantastic pet, but with my companionship and unconditional love.
