Story
Lucien came to APA from the Austin Animal Center and is one of the handsomest dogs at our shelter! He's a high energy young guy who would do well with an active adopter who enjoys going on walks, hikes, and engaging in other outdoor activities to provide enrichment and to get some of Lucien's young dog energy out. Lucien is a smart boy and is treat-motivated, which can making training an easier endeavor. He can be paired with a well-matched dog friend as well. Older children are recommended due to Lucien's size and energy level. Please come meet Lucien today!

Story
Our family adopted Wendy from Austin Pets Alive in September of 2023. She’s about 6 years old, and is full of energy and affection. Although she’s an amazingly loving pup with people and children, she doesn’t get along with small animals or other female dogs (severe aggression), but does ok with male dogs of a similar size. She has been so sweet with our 2 small kids except for a pawing issue. She paws at people to show them how much she loves them, but she thinks she’s a much smaller dog than she is. So much so that she’ll crawl right up into your lap if you’ll let her! We’ve decided to re-home her because we live in a small house in a big subdivision, and it’s not safe for the other animals here when she escapes from time to time to explore. She needs LOTS of attention, room to run, and a lot more physical affection - all things that we unfortunately are not in a position to give to her. As much as we love her, we know she deserves better…
