Story
Esme is a simple girl that came to our attention at Critter Cavalry Rescue as she struggled to find a place to raise her 7 puppies that she birthed.  The odds were stacked but she managed to bring 3 of the 7 puppies through to the place that they could be adopted during the coming weeks.  This girl is 2 years old, weighs 35 pounds and has a sleek, beautiful demeanor that speaks to everyone she meets with a kindness and courage.  Esme is learning how to enjoy the niceties of being an inside dog as she has raised her puppies.  She is housebroken, crate trained and is good with all the other dogs and cats at the foster home.  She is around young active children (boys) and she keeps her calm demeanor through all the activities of the children. She loves people so much and just to be with someone.  She is food motivated and very bright and can learn so much if you use the treat method to win her attention and desire to learn a trick or commands. She is a great medium energy girl that is ready to chase a toy or ball but has not gotten the memo on how to bring it back to the person who threw it. She is wonderful on a leash and has a slight playful side to her. This pretty girl is really not big at all and on the smaller side of a Lab and she demands little from life or her people.  We are wanting the sun, moon and stars for her future with a new family. Could you give that to her?  Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested! PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.November 4, 2024, 11:48 pm

Story
weight 35 lbs age: 6 months as of 10/15 adoption donation: $650 Heather and her sister Hayden are friendly, sweet and loving dogs who we believe have some Vizsla and Rhodesian Ridgeback in them. They were found emaciated, living in a culvert in a rural and remote part of northern Mississippi in an area known for dumping ground for dogs. . Despite their difficult beginning Hayden and Heather are so sweet! They love everyone they meet and are great with other dogs. They absolutely love the plastic swimming pool at the rescue!     The pups have both had all their vaccines and have been spayed. They are both housebroken although like any rescue they will need some guidance while they adjust to a new home Hayden and Heather are gentle, smart and playful dogs who will make wonderful family members. Wags is a licensed 501 C3 where one woman takes care of almost 150 homeless and stray dogs many of them have expensive medical needs.. Adoption fees include transport, vaccinations, microchip, and spay or neuter. for more information on Hayden and Heather or any of our rescue dogs please email Mariaeftimiades@yahoo.com     October 24, 2024, 11:01 am

Story
Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VTGood with dogs: Yes, with proper introsGood with cats: NoGood with kids: Kids 16 +Crate trained: YesHouse trained: YesLilac is a sweet, lazy girl who is looking for a quiet home where she can play some fetch and then curl up in the dog bed and take a nap (her two favorite things). Lilac is wonderful with other dogs when properly introduced, and she loves to play. She would love a fenced yard to romp in. She can be leash reactive to new dogs, and though she has improved with training, this will always be something she needs to work on. For this reason, proper intros are a must with her.  She is also ecollar trained. so her perfect home would continue this training with her. She excels with structure and routine.Where Lilac still struggles greatly is with meeting new people in the home. Outside the home, and even a the vet, she is generally fine. When people that she does not know very very well come into the home, Lilac should be crated, leashed, or muzzled. She needs to be slowly introduced to new people, but once she gets to know you very very well, she's all in and is the kissiest, snuggliest girl.  She is even very sweet to pretty much everyone while muzzled, so that's an easy fix to keep her safe.  When people she does not know come into the home, she can get vocal,  but when introduced while muzzled she does fine.  Because of her reactivity to new people, a single family home is the best fit for her. She would not do well in an apartment. Lilac has had a long road, and while she has come a long way, she is very much still a work in progress. With the right family she will do just fine.Lilac's issues have happened in the past when her intros to new people coming into the home were not controlled.  So I can't emphasize enough that she needs to take it slow with new people :) But she will reward you for sure once you get to know her. Please Note: All dogs are posted until they are officially adopted. He would enjoy a loving home that provides him with patience and an energy outlet (whether daily walks or daycare). He enjoys playing with other dogs and can be rough but is good at taking cues. He has largely ignored cats down south, so would likely do fine with a feline sibling. Caspian has interacted well with kids and would likely be fine with a dog savvy kid in the home.He is crate-trained, mostly house-trained and is primarily accident free in his foster home on a routine. Caspian is used to being crated. He sleeps quietly all night and will ocassionally whine/bark if he realizes he's missing out on the fun but is easily corrected. He does well on the leash and enjoys his daily walks.Caspian has so much love to give and is ready to jump into his next chapter- is he the one you? Please Note: All dogs currently available for adoption are posted on our website.
