Story
Meet Skylar….Skylar is an affectionate, snuggly, and loyal pup whose biggest passion in life is her person. She thrives on love and attention and her favorite activities include playing fetch and curling up for snuggles on the couch. This smart girl is crate-trained, housetrained, knows basic commands, and has mastered going to her “place.” Skylar is full of fun and love, and like all dogs, she comes with a few quirks— but everyone knows the quirks are what we love about our dogs. She’s great with new people and visitors but can be a little anxious around other dogs. Because of this, Skylar would do best as the only dog where she can shine as the center of attention. Skylar was rescued by a Good Samaritan running as a stray in rural SC. She was just a young pup and was fortunate to have someone looking out for her. The Good Samaritan took Sklyar into her home which included kids and other dogs. She did a gradual introduction of Sklyar to her pack, taking more than a week to fully integrate her. She was still a very young dog and we feel the managed, slow introduction helped her trust the other dogs. When Skylar first came to town, she was anxious and had some leash reactivity around other dogs. Skylar has made progress thanks to her foster mom, Terri, dedication and training, which included a board-and-train program and regular training sessions. She’s even participated in group training sessions with other dogs, proving she can adapt with the right leadership. Skylar needs a handler who understands how to manage her behavior on walks. Once indoors, she shines and has better people skills and house manners than most dogs—she’s fine being left home alone and will give you a hero’s welcome when you return. Since graduating from training, Skylar has learned to focus on Terri when they go for walks, and she’s become desensitized to the neighborhood dogs. If she does get excited, she recovers more quickly, and her recall is much improved. The ideal home for Skylar would be in a quiet, low-traffic neighborhood with a fenced yard. She will flourish as an only dog and needs an adopter who will set the rules and help build her confidence. She will gladly comply with lots of love and kisses.  This sweet pup is LONG overdue for her happy ending. Worthy Dog is committed to Skylar's success and will donate training sessions to help Skylar’s new family transition her into their home. We are also open to FOSTER-TO-ADOPT for serious adopters. ******** Worthy Dog is committed to Skylar and her success and will donate training sessions to help Skylar’s new family transition her into their home. Story
My name is Robbie and I am puppy at heart and only 6 months old.  My pictures make me look big but ready I am not big at all. I only weigh 35 pounds at 6 months and they say I will be 65-70- pounds as an adult.  I LUV KIDS!   My heart leaps for joy when I See children that I can play with and love on.  I am a boy that loves to run fast and for a little bit of time too.  I need not only physical Exercise but also some fun games and training games to help my smart brain feel challenged too.  I need a fenced yard and someone To help share playtime and games with me sometimes.  I could use the company of another dog as well to help me with the physical Playtime outside and also to keep me active with socialization with other dogs.   We think that Robbie has some Pointer in him since He raises once leg and seems to point quite often during this outside playtime.  He is alert and very smart.   He walks pretty well on a leash and he is curious to learn more things about life.  He is not inside a lot so we would have to say that he could be housebroken fast if given some one on one Attention and training.  This boy is good with cats, dogs and adores children.  He never meets a stranger and he will needs a fenced yard To best live within safely and to run and play for long hours if the weather is good.  We want a wonderful dog savvy and loving family for Robbie.   He will be a 65 pounds boy when fully grown we think.   If you are interested in knowing more about Robbie please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   Mention where you live.  We transport from Nashville, TN where we are based and we travel to the Northeastern region as well with our pre-adopted dogs.   Thank you for considering this precious boy   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comDecember 30, 2024, 2:10 pm

Please contact Caitlin Finn (caitlin.finn@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.young boy ready to play! KENTUCKY NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:  Kentucky       Best Guess for Breed:   Pointer and lab mix Best Guess for Age:  1 year as of December 2024   Gender:    Male Approximate Weight:    51 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen him with kids but he can be tested if you have them. Kentucky is a bit too interested in his feline friends so a home without cats is best. Currently Living At: Lucky Dog's South Carolina rescue campus; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to come up after completing heartworm treatment Special Adoption Considerations: Kentucky is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs.  All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care.  After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months.  We are happy to discuss this treatment and which phase of the study this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left! Kentucky is Looking For: His forever family! He's got all that awesome young-dog energy and is eager to have his own humans for long sniffy walks, romps in the park, and exploring the world - he hasn't seen nearly enough of it. He'd love to make pup pals along the way, too. Quality kibble, cushy dog beds, peanut butter-filled Kongs - yes, please. But you know what he wants most of all? To know where he belongs, to know he's safe and loved for all his days. What do you say? Is he the one you see by your side? What My Foster Says About Me:We will update this once he has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with his foster Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption.
