Story
Nilla was born in rescue to mother Anastasia from MCACC. A DNA test was done on the litter and we learned that Nilla is a mix of Vizsla (~50%), Siberian Husky, Alaskan Malamute and German Shepherd. At 8 weeks old, Nilla and her brother Duke went to a foster-to-adopt home, but sadly were returned at 18 weeks when we were set to finalize their adoption. Now that she isn't a baby anymore, Nilla is having a much harder timing finding a family. Her brother was lucky and got adopted right away, but Nilla is still waiting for someone to pick her. She has been getting nothing but compliments for being such a good girl since returning to us! No surprise that Nilla is a high energy girl. Walks help expend her energy, and also make a great training opportunity as she is still learning leash manners. Nilla walks very much like a puppy — exploring everything! She is playful with other animals, loves belly rubs, and is very affectionate. Nilla can be a little protective of her humans around other dogs and people - not in an aggressive way, but she will try to put herself in between you and them so she can get all the attention. Like any puppy, Nilla likes to chew, but she has been very responsive to redirection and verbal corrections. She listens very well and even loves spending time in her crate. Nilla would do well in a variety of homes - she is a very happy girl who loves her humans! She has been exposed to young kids, cats and dogs since a young age. Because of her high energy, a home that could offer a lot of activity would be ideal. We believe she could do well with kids of all ages. She has been interested in playing with cats in her temporary foster home and read their behaviors well enough to know when to leave them alone. She currently lives with other dogs large and small and would enjoy a home that has other playful dogs. If you think Nilla has a place in your home, fill out an application to meet this sweet girl! https://azhuskyrescue.com/adoption-application/

Story
My two kids and I got Duke when he was about 9 weeks old. He is a vizsla/Shepard mix. We have had him for 3 years and his energy level is too much for us to attend to. His breed is a working dog breed. He needs to get out and run and attend to his energy of his breed. Unfortunately after my boyfriend and I and 3 kids have moved in together he does not get the attention he needs. He is a very attached breed and needs a lot of attention and a couple that can get him out to do things often, exercise with him, run ect. He is very smart and trainable unfortunately we are just not able to give him the time and attention he needs.
