You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.North Texas Cat Rescue P.O Box 1504 McKinney, TX 75070 214.454.9395 www.northtexascatrescue.com Max is a super sweet, healthy boy! He was a stray kitty looking for a safe shelter when some very nice people stepped up and took him in. He's very happy with his new indoor life. Unfortunately, the kind people who have been caring for him, cannot keep him permanently but are fostering him in the hopes he finds his forever home. Max has been around other cats and older, calm dogs and seems to be happy to share "his" home with them...he's a pretty chill dude! Max is FIV positive , but if you're not familiar with FIV, it stands for feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). It is a virus that is not transmittable to other species and only spread from cat-to-cat via blood - so deep bite wounds. It does not negatively affect a cat's life or lifespan, nor does it impact their quality of life. It's really important that if an FIV+ cat shows signs of illness, they are taken to the vet immediately as they can take a bit longer to recover. Additionally, when FIV+ cats are taken for yearly check-ups at the vet, it’s important that their teeth are also checked as some FIV+ cats can have above average dental disease. Max would be fine in a home with non-FIV cats, provided the cat isn’t aggressive.
