Story
ABOUT GOOBERS This gorgeous long-hair lad in Goobers! He is a 2-year-old black-and-white boy. Goobers came to HAP when he was found wandering as a stray. While we don't know much about his past, this guy quickly showed us he has a huge personality! Goobers LOVES to zoom around our playroom and chase toys. Whether he's watching birds outside the window or searching for lost treats, this guy is always on the move. After some exploring, you may find him sprawling out at your feet or leaning against your leg for some affection! He also enjoys a good nap, finding the highest tower or tree to overlook his surroundings. While Goobers enjoys roaming around, he prefers to be the only kitty out and about. Due to this, he would prefer to be your only cat in a home! **Fun fact: Goobers was a HAP hero, donating blood to provide a severely sick kitten with a transfusion! Thanks to Goober's cooperation and beautiful veins, we saved a kitten's life! If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Story
ABOUT SNOWY Last month, Snowy was abandoned on our property, showing clear signs of neglect. In addition to being obese and covered in fleas, Snowy was completely and heavily matted with feces and urine in her coat. Upon examination, we could see that her matting went all the way to her skin and would require sedation to remove without causing her pain. Then she received the works, with an ear cleaning, flea treatment, and a nice bath to clean her up! After some TLC, all she wanted was pets and cuddles. Despite all she has been through, Snowy has remained a loving, trusting girl. She is on a weight loss plan, which includes a special diet and lots of exercise. Thankfully, Snowy is a curious, playful girl so it's not hard to get her steps in! She has enjoyed exploring our building in her stroller and then leaping out to explore our offices. She is quick to lean into you are nudge your hand with her head. Snowy is currently living a life of luxury with her free-roaming suite! Story
This kitten has just arrived! They have come to us on transport from a shelter partner, were found as stray, or surrendered to our care. When kittens arrive to us we are typically unsure of their full background, litter box habits, how they are with handling, or how much socialization with humans/animals they have received. Kittens require a significant amount of patience and training to learn how to behave properly in a home. The first few months of having a kitten is a critical time to improve socialization and help your kitten become confident. Exposing your kitten to all kinds of touch, sounds, people, and animals can ensure a well-socialized adult cat. Remember, kittens aren't born knowing how to live in a human's world, it is up to you to teach them how to make good decisions in a positive and caring manner. The more positive interactions they have in their first year of life will set them up for better behavior in the future. If you are interested in adopting this cat, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals.
