Story
Reba is ready for a forever home. She is a walker hound who was originally rescued from a high kill shelter, spayed, and treated for heartworm which she is now negative for. Fully vaccinated and microchipped. Located in Mebane, NC. This girl is cat and dog friendly but must be separate from chickens. She likes being mostly indoors and is crate trained. She does great at the dog park. She rarely barks for a hound - only if left alone in the yard. Weighs 51 lbs. Teeth are tartar free. She is very affectionate. She eats Purina pro plan sport salmon dog food, which is chicken free and recommended by walker hound enthusiasts. She was just seen at the vet for a checkup. $100 adoption fee and includes food, crate, leash, 4 months of flea and heartworm preventative, and bones. Reccommend household with older kids because she is a little clumsy when cuddling and playing.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Beaumont, affectionately called Beau, has always been a little different. Naturally shy, this sweet boy isn't the boisterous, eager-to-please type that many expect; instead, he observes the world cautiously, choosing his moments to engage. Like humans, dogs have personalities as unique as snowflakes; for Beau, it's his gentle, reserved nature that sets him apart. When Beau moved to his second foster home here at CVRR, he was understandably wary. He loved his first foster family (where he'd landed with his siblings) and interacted well, but we wanted to find individual homes for each littermate to help them blossom.  Once in his new foster home, he spent his first few days hiding, trying to make sense of his new surroundings. Patience became the bridge between his fear and trust. For three weeks, his new foster mom let him observe, never forcing him to engage. When that magical day came when Beau walked through the door on his own, it felt like a quiet triumph, and since then, he's blossomed in small, profound ways. He finds comfort in routine, trots happily into the basement at night to sleep, and spends his days hoarding treasures from the yard (sticks, toys, even a rogue plastic pot), guarding them with the innocence of a child.  Beau needs someone who understands that love isn't rushed, but rather earned. With the help of a confident dog companion and patient humans, he'll continue to grow. He doesn't demand much, but when he trusts you, the wag of his tail and the softness in his gaze are enough to light up the room. In Beau's world, love is quiet, steady, and infinitely rewarding. *His adoption fee is $200.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in this animal? The first step is an application, which can be completed at www.cvrrescue.org/adoption-applications/. The adoption fee helps cover a portion of the care provided for our animals, including spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm testing for dogs, FeLV/FIV combo testing for cats, deworming, age-appropriate vaccines (including rabies vaccine), and any medical care received while in our care. All cats and dogs are on flea/tick and parasite prevention for the duration of foster care. Notes about puppies: Adopters can expect a new puppy to have accidents, chew things they shouldn't, and have other normal, energetic puppy issues until they are trained, including jumping, mouthing, and general youthful naughtiness. If you experience puppy issues, please feel free to contact us; we’re happy to offer guidance. Also, if a puppy is a mixed breed, we cannot guarantee an adult weight. If your residence has weight restrictions or if you’re looking for a specific adult weight, we don't recommend applying for a mixed-breed puppy. We also offer rehoming services for pets currently owned by individuals. In these cases, we list the animal as a courtesy to the owner, and the animal is not currently in the care of CVRR, such that we can make no representation or guarantee of the animal’s behavior, demeanor, or health assessment. All information listed for a courtesy-posted animal is provided by the current owner and should be verified by any potential adopter. CVRR is a nonprofit organization. We have no paid staff, and all applications are reviewed and processed by our volunteers. Please be patient and understand that it may take 7-14 days to process your application, check your references, and gather follow-up info. You can expedite the process by providing accurate phone numbers and email addresses for your vet and landlord references, and by answering each question fully. Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if the animal picks you, too. If it seems the adoption will be a good match for all, we will collect the adoption fee and complete the adoption contract. CVRR is a NO KILL rescue organization, and we have a LIFETIME COMMITMENT to all of our animals. If for any reason the adoption does not work out, the animal must be returned to CVRR. We will reevaluate the animal and choose a new home based on the best fit for it. January 19, 2025, 8:20 pm
