Story
Willa and Watson (siblings) came from the Brookhaven pound. We saw them on Face Book. The Brookhaven pound was going to put these puppies down because they were so shy. They couldn’t find a rescue group to take them. We decided to help them. They are super sweet, but they are very shy. Walter is not as shy as Willa. They feel very comfortable in their environment, but when taken to the vet, they do get nervous. They do respond to love, but they need somebody that will spend time with them. Because we are so overcrowded, they have never had an opportunity to live in the house. They were heavily bonded at the foster’s house, and they loved to play together. The foster did not spend any time with them, but the children played with them some in the fenced in area. They play well with other dogs, but they have never been around cats. Since they have been at Blue Ribbon Kennels, they have been in separate kennels for the past 13 months. They both need a special home with somebody that will spend a lot of time loving them, giving them a lot of attention and being patient with them. Plese help Willa, and maybe even consider adopting both of them! Willa and Watson are in Mississippi. Rescue Riders is a very reliable pet transport and will transport Willa to her new home. This is included in the adoption fee.
We'll also keep you updated on Watson's adoption status with email updates.

Story
Poor Hopscotch was caught in a trap which took off most her front leg and a few toes on her left foot. Thankfully she was found in the feed bin of the barn of a vet tech who immediately took her to the vet. Her right leg was amputated but she gets along fine without it--she can even climb stairs! She is a sweet girl who gets along with other dogs and with kids. She does well in the car and walks well on leash. She is the sweetest girl and can't wait to find her forever home!See her play with Fannie:https://youtu.be/duVan98kUmwAccuracy is not guaranteed; however, information provided is accurate to the best of our knowledge.  For more information on the pet, please send an email to info@aforeverhome.org November 17, 2024, 9:11 pm

Story
https://foha.org/pet/ozzy2021/ Howdy! I'm Ozzy! I'm a handsome boy who is getting to know the world. A lot can be scary for a dog like me who hasn't had a lot of experiences in the real world. I'm shy at first but will warm up quickly if you give me some yummy chicken. Cars and new sounds can be a little scary for me too, so I'll need someone to help introduce me to new things and show me all the great things in life! My favorite thing to do is play soccer - kick the ball for me and watch me (and my ears) bounce with excitement! I also love sniffing and exploring the trails here at FOHA. Because I'm still learning how to be confident in a world of uncertainty, I will do best in a home without children. If you'd like to get to know me a little better, submit an application and we can set up a time to meet. Hope to see you soon!! Story
https://foha.org/pet/greta2024/ Hi! It is me, Greta, coming your way with some valuable information about me that I am sure that you want to know before you come to meet me at FOHA. I am a Tree Walker Coonhound which means I like to take walks around in nature. So, do you love to walk and exercise at the same time? If so, you found your match with me. I am sweet, loving, kind and best of all I like to give kisses. I have a wonderful personality around people and other dogs. Don't let my immediate shyness get in the way of anything. When I get familiar with people and other dogs, I am just fine. Give me a few minutes to warm up and then you will see me being happy and content! Well, I know you are already thinking about me so if you like a sweet, gentle, sniffing nose to the ground type of dog then you must make a date to visit me. I am the cute one residing at FOHA and I want you to know that I would love to live in a cozy warm house with you by my side for the winter. I could even make a holiday wish list of things I like such as treats and toys. You and I can enjoy all future holidays together! Thank you for considering coming to see me. I will be the dog watching for you with soulful eyes, a smile with good teeth, and a beautiful brown and white coat. I hope that you have a wonderful day! Please make that date to meet me soon at FOHA! Love, Greta

Story
If you are interested in adopting Dolly, please email dogs@lostdogrescue.org Dolly will be attending one of our adoption events coming up this weekend! To learn more about our upcoming events and to see which event they will be attending, please visit our event page at https://www.lostdogrescue.org/events/ (*please note that the specific event pages are typically updated on Fridays with information on which dogs will be attending which events*) And the award for most sociable goes to... Dolly! Everyone Dolly meets is a friend, humans and dogs alike. She is incredibly sweet, sensitive, and loving. She is also true to her Treeing Walker Coonhound breed - independent, hilariously and lovably goofy, very high-energy, obsessed with all the smells, and extremely eager to tell everyone (again and again) when she's discovered something to hunt. Letting her nose lead the way, Dolly has a curious nature and a passion for exploration. When out on a walk, Dolly just wants to gain all the knowledge she can about the world around her (and sniff out every single critter). When indoors, she will regularly meander into rooms with food, wearing an expression that asks, "Excuse me, is there something that needs to be eaten in here?" This silly and affectionate ball of energy is eager to learn about manners, so consistency with positive reinforcement training - especially to manage her hunting instincts - will allow her kind-hearted personality to remain prevalent. (Tip: toys with animal hides are the best rewards for her!) When not in hunting mode, she can be great at several cues like sit, come, high-five, touch, down, and belly (play dead). She's had a rough early life and needs a forever home where she can have a lot of outdoor time and patient, caring humans with an active, outdoor-oriented lifestyle.
