Story
Mildred, a striking tricolor beagle, is as classic as they come. With her rich brown, black, and white coat and those soulful, expressive eyes, she’s the picture-perfect embodiment of everything we love about the breed. Mildred is the true definition of a beagle—playful, inquisitive, and always ready to follow her nose to whatever adventure awaits.
Curiosity is at the heart of who Mildred is. Whether it’s sniffing out a hidden treat, investigating an unfamiliar sound, or exploring every nook and cranny of her surroundings, she approaches the world like it’s her personal mystery to solve. Her nose is her guide, and she’ll happily lead you on walks filled with exciting discoveries and plenty of stops to “inspect” every inch of the way.
Despite her natural curiosity, Mildred could use a little boost in confidence. She sometimes hesitates in new situations or around unfamiliar faces, but with a little patience and encouragement, she blossoms into a brave and eager explorer. Like many beagles, she thrives on positive reinforcement—and maybe a tasty treat or two as motivation.
True to her beagle roots, Mildred will charm her way into your heart with her floppy ears, wagging tail, and a personality as warm and inviting as a sunny afternoon stroll. With a little love and support, this curious and lovable girl will grow into a confident, devoted companion who brings endless joy to your life. Mildred isn’t just any beagle—she’s your beagle, ready to sniff out happiness wherever it may lead.
Since many of our adoptable dogs are in foster homes, appointments are highly recommended to ensure the animal you are interested in is currently at the shelter. Please call or e-mail the shelter to set up an appointment to meet and adopt!
Our adoption fees include the following: all of our dogs/puppies are current on vaccinations (DHPP and Rabies if over 3 months of age) at the point of adoption, dewormed, heartworm tested and current on preventative, microchipped, treated for fleas/ticks and are spayed or neutered. Our large dog adoption fee is generally $175 + tax. Our small dog and puppy adoption fee is generally $275+ tax. Adoption fees may vary in special circumstances. Due to space limitations, we do not hold dogs.
Because we are on a busy street, we require that all dogs leaving the shelter be in a carrier or on leash. All pets remain up for adoption until an approved application is processed and their adoption fee paid.
