Story
Reese is an hound mix puppy (December 2023 birthday) who was adopted from the animal shelter. He is very smart and is house trained and crate trained. He loves all people and other dogs and is very social. He loves to play play play! His favorite games are tug and fetch, and he loves to be chased around the yard! He is pretty independent outside of wanting a few good belly rubs. Why would we want to rehome such a good dog? Due to our schedules, he does not get enough exercise and we want to find him a home with other dogs. We are unable to adopt other pups and Reese loves being part of a pack! After he had a sitter with other pups, we saw how happy he was. We think he would do best with a big yard that has other dogs where he can run and play. He is so fun and friendly and deserves to have playmates and owners who have time to run and play with him! He is up to date on all vaccines and heart worm/flea medicine. He is the sweet playful hound for you!

Story
Meet our adoptable dog, Boomer! Boomer is a 3 year old Foxhound/Tree Walker Coonhound. He is about 57lbs. Sweet Boomer has never know what it’s like to get to be a regular dog, he was used strictly as a hunting dog and when not on a hunt he lived his life in a cage. Since being in the rescue he has started learning how to be a loving pet! He’s learning how to play and show affection for people and has just been a good boy all around. What his fosters say about him: He loves cuddling on the couch and going for walks. He does good with most dogs, just needs a calm introduction. He’s okay with cats but would NOT recommend a home with them. He loves tug of war, he also likes to play ball but is a little confused about the concept of it. In big settings he can be a little nervous. He is a very sweet boy who needs someone who is willing to be patient and help him learn the ropes of being a loving pet. Boomer is fully vetted, neutered, and microchipped. Please consider giving this sweet boy his forever home!

Story
A beagle on wheels!  The smile on Margot's face would never reveal the horrors that got her to where she is today.  Margot was surrendered to the shelter with no use of her rear end after she had been dragging herself around for FOUR MONTHS!  She had the sores and rashes to prove it.  While we will never know what happened to her, we know that she has a will to thrive and live her very best life!  She has adapted well to her wheelchair and loves her evening walks, where she is quite the neighborhood celebrity :)  Recently she went on a 5-mile walk, so she has great stamina and just wants to be included. Margot loves meeting new people and dogs of all sizes.  She LOVES to play!  And she loves being pet, picked up, held, any attention. Margot does need to have her bladder expressed 3-4 times per day as she does not seem to have the ability to urinate on her own readily.  But she doesn't mind at all!  At home, indoors, she does not stay in her wheelchair and happily scoots around the house to wherever the action is.  She easily slides down off the sofa and can slide down stairs without a problem, she just can't go up stairs.  But since she is only 18-lbs it is easy to carry her up anywhere she needs to go.  Margot's wheelchair and drag bag (for scooting around outside without the chair) will go with her to her adopting family. Story
Chop Suey was in ROUGH shape when he came to us, so underweight, terrible skin, and he had chewed on his tail so much we expected to have to amputate it. Thankfully, with good meds and even better nutrition, he is looking so much better already. Choppy gets along well with other dogs and would love a home with canine siblings and long walks. **This dog is heartworm positive and will be treated by the rescue and will be available for foster to adopt for a local family in or near Charleston, SC that is comfortable with the restriction requirements for the duration of treatment. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out an application.  We do allow out of state adoptions and any transport costs are at the expense of the adopter.  If you have further questions about this dog, please email us at ccradopt@gmail.com and someone will be in touch as soon as possible.
