Story
Do you love tacos? I'm the dog for you!! I am just over one year old and about 55 pounds. I am a hound mix with long legs and my foster humans say they don't understand why I haven't been adopted yet! I love all people of all sizes and I also love to "aaaWooo" at you when I am very excited. I love to sniff all of the things and adventure. I do well at doggy daycare, but would prefer to not share my home with another doggie. I am neutered and up to date on vaccines, as well as microchipped. I hope to meet you soon, my foster hooman says check out the adoption process below to play! ADOPTION PROCESS 1. Review our adoption contract and application. 2. Story
Willow is a sweet 2 year old hound mix that is reported to be very chill and loves a good movie. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. Willow loves people, dogs, chew toys and looking out the window. She dislikes her crate, cats and being alone. When her foster Mom leaves, she just keeps her in one room instead of a crate and she is happy! Although she is learning to be confident, she still gets scared of things like thunder and other loud noises. Willow will need a dog sibling, and a fenced in yard. ADOPTION PROCESS 1. Review our adoption contract and application. 2. Call your vet and references to inform them that a rescue representative will be calling. 3. Complete adoption application and submit following appropriate link below: Dog/Puppy: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HRMD/Dog Cat/kitten: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HRMD/Cat 4. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.NOTE- HARRY IS LISTED AS A COURTESY TO ANOTHER RESCUE ORGANIZATION.  PLEASE SEE CONTACT INFO BELOW.ASK NOT WHAT THIS HOUND CAN DO FOR YOU,BUT WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR THIS HOUND.Harry Neil is a 10 year old walker hound who recently came to us when he no longer wanted to hunt. Having lived life on a chain, Harry Neil is now enjoying romping in a fenced yard, interacting with other dogs in his foster home and soaking up all the attention. Harry is kind and quiet and surpisingly petite! The mass on his face is a damaged salivary gland. Nothing can be done for it but it does not hurt or bother him. Henry is looking for a compassionate family who understands that he missed out on a lot of things while pursing a career in hunting. He will need extra support with house training and basic manners. Henry Neil deserves a comfy home with a wonderful family to enjoy the rest of his life! He'll pay you in kindness and gratitude.(We do not recommend hunting hounds for homes with cats.)A reduced adoption fee of $100 does apply for Harry Neil, our seniors, special medical and behavioral needs dogs and other 'slow to adopt' dogs!Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
