You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.NOTE- HARRY IS LISTED AS A COURTESY TO ANOTHER RESCUE ORGANIZATION.  PLEASE SEE CONTACT INFO BELOW.ASK NOT WHAT THIS HOUND CAN DO FOR YOU,BUT WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR THIS HOUND.Harry Neil is a 10 year old walker hound who recently came to us when he no longer wanted to hunt. Having lived life on a chain, Harry Neil is now enjoying romping in a fenced yard, interacting with other dogs in his foster home and soaking up all the attention. Harry is kind and quiet and surpisingly petite! The mass on his face is a damaged salivary gland. Nothing can be done for it but it does not hurt or bother him. Henry is looking for a compassionate family who understands that he missed out on a lot of things while pursing a career in hunting. He will need extra support with house training and basic manners. Henry Neil deserves a comfy home with a wonderful family to enjoy the rest of his life! He'll pay you in kindness and gratitude.(We do not recommend hunting hounds for homes with cats.)A reduced adoption fee of $100 does apply for Harry Neil, our seniors, special medical and behavioral needs dogs and other 'slow to adopt' dogs!Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries. Story
Percival, lovingly known as Percy here at the shelter arrived as a stray that no one ever came for. He is around 3 years old and weighs in at 27 pounds, he was thin when he arrived and is still currently gaining. He does not seem to mind being around other dogs. He did well with the tester cat here at the shelter and seems to know that cats like to have their space. Percy is very food motivated and may take treats a little roughly, due to this a home with older children would be best for Percy. He did test positive for lyme and anaplasmosis but is currently on antibiotics to treat these. Percy would love to find out what a loving forever home is all about soon! He has been neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, Heartworm/lyme tested, and microchipped since his arrival at the shelter.Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter5051 Letterkenny Road WestChambersburg, PA 17201Kennel License #2090

Story
Mocha was surrendered to the shelter along with her daughter when their owners could no longer care for them. When she arrived, Mocha was very underweight, very anemic, had a bad case of fleas, and had cherry eye in both eyes. She was not feeling well at all. Mocha was put on several small meals a day along with several supplements, she was treated for the fleas and bloodwork was done. It took several months for Mocha to regain her strength and to regenerate her red blood cells. Mocha then had surgery to correct her cherry eyes and to be spayed, when she was under for being spayed a mammary lump was removed and sent out for testing it came back as a benign mass that was hormone driven. Mocha has made great strides in her recovery and is now ready to find her loving forever home! Mocha can be shy at first with new people but with some treats she will be your best friend! Mocha did live with other dogs and did well with them. She does show interest in cats but can be distracted. Mocha will need someone with beagle experience and that knows that she will follow her nose! Mocha has been spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, Heartworm/Lyme tested, and microchipped since her arrival at the shelter.Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter5051 Letterkenny Road WestChambersburg, PA 17201Kennel License#2090
