Story
Clementine is a sweet and beautiful Treeing Walker Coonhound female who is about 3-4 years old and weighs about 62 pounds. She`s housetrained (with supervision), spayed, microchipped and current on vaccines and preventatives. She seems to have spent most of her adult life so far producing puppies for or because of negligent, uncaring owners. Clementine was a truly great mom, but now it`s her time to be the star! She probably didn`t get much attention from people before she came into foster care. She`s calm and gentle, but she`s also starting to relax and reveal her playful and curious side. Clementine would enjoy a friendly companion dog to help her adjust to household routines and be a playmate.Clementine is very good on a leash and loves going for walks! She`s also good in the car. For a hound, she has not been especially focused on following her nose and she doesn`t bark or howl a lot, but she has been able to scale a 5 ft. wire fence when not supervised. A solid wood privacy fence, and/or other means of safe containment will be needed. She doesn`t mind spending some time in a kennel, so that`s an option for times you can`t watch her as long as there is protection from weather and cold. She does well in a large crate with a nice bed and a treat for the night! We`d recommend a home with no children or older children simply because she`s a big girl and she is still a little nervous when things get noisy. If you are interested in giving `Darling Clementine` her best life, please contact her foster home by email at blairhsow@gmail.com if you have any questions. If you`d like to meet and possibly adopt Clementine, please fully complete and submit this application: https://www.humanesocietyofwilkes.org/adopt/application. To ensure your application was received, please email the foster home.

Story
We adopted Duke from the Humane Society about four years ago. He instantly connected with our kids and has been a great dog for our family. Unfortunately, a tragic family accident in our extended family has meant we have had to be away from home with more frequency and have not been able to care for Duke as much as he deserves. It’s an incredibly difficult thing for us to consider rehoming him, but we think it is in Dukes best interest. He is great with kids and other dogs. Enough energy to play with and run around but not overly active. He’s a hound, so he’s got a loud bark. He’s an incredible dog.

Story
I’m Bibby, a dashing Treeing Walker Coonhound/terrier mix with a big personality that will keep you always entertained.I came to the Humane Society of York County from York County Animal Services, where I had been surrendered by my owners. My estimated birth date is June 2020.Sadly, I haven’t experienced stability in my life, which can make me wary when I meet new people. I just need a little extra time to get to know you, and then you’ll find out I’m a serious love bug, very sweet and affectionate.I’m the sporty type – I love being out in nature and I love water. There’s nothing like a good hike with my people. I’m a true companion dog! (But don’t get me wrong, lounging on the couch sounds wonderful, too.)I’m a big, high-energy boy (about 65 to 70 pounds), so I would do best in a home with no small children and no other pets. I would love to have an active family that would help me manage my energy. I love to be on the go exploring, and a fenced yard would be a big plus.If you’re looking for an affectionate hunk who will always be ready for adventure with you, we need to meet!If you wish to meet me, please call the Humane Society of York County at (803)-802-0902 to schedule an appointment. Please refer to our website for adoption requirements: https://humanesocietyofyorkcounty.org/adopt/adoption-process.htmlThank you for your support.
