Story
PLEASE NOTE: This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to Massachusetts shortly with no additional travel costs. Roughly 90% of our dogs are adopted prior to their transport up to MA and 10% are adopted locally.Meet Jesse! Jesse is approximately 2 years old, 54 lbs currently, and she likely is a Treeing Walker Coonhound. She was surrendered because she was a hunting dog that didn`t hunt. In her foster home, she is working hard on her house-training, crate training, and does NOT have experience leash walking. She could go to a home (no apartments please!) with kids 10+, dog savvy cats, and other playful dogs. She needs a fenced in yard. She was positive for Heartworm but has been treated and is now negative! Her foster says, `Jessie is super sweet! She loves to run and play with my other dogs. She is very loving and likes to know what you are doing. She sleeps with me and the other dogs at night. I did not use the crate much because she had been boarded since the end of August last year until December of 2024, and I wanted her to have some freedom. She does well in the house while I’m at work. She does have an accident occasionally but she is pretty much potty trained. She has not chewed on anything she shouldn’t. I keep plenty of toys in and outside of the house. She does jump on the counters only because she follows her nose. We have been working on this and she is doing better. She also used to jump up on people only because she is so loving and curious. We have been working on this as well and she is doing great! She does okay on a leash but may need more training. She will make someone a great addition to their family!!! She will be missed very much ?? Has been a wonderful pup to foster!!`She is available for adoption in N Dartmouth on March 14th. Please fill out an application on our website at https://www.browndogcoalition.com/adoptable as a first step.-Dogs may not be given as gifts or surprises.-Please thoughtfully discuss with your entire household the physical, safety, financial and emotional responsibilities of a dog BEFORE applying to adopt.- More information about our adoption process, application and adoption fees can be found at browndogcoalition.com

Story
Willow and Meela are petite hound mixes, littermates coming to us from southern Virginia. We can place them separately or together. They are about a year old, friendly, engaging with new people, and good with other dogs. Meela has arrived in Massachusetts and is getting settled at her foster home north of Boston. Her foster reports that Meela is easy-going and affectionate. She does well in her crate overnight, is doing well with housebreaking and getting used to walking on a leash. She loves to snuggle and is making herself at home. Willow weighs 35 lbs, Meela weighs 43 lbs. If you’d like to apply to adopt, please submit an application using the link below. Story
Bogey was adopted from a rescue in North Carolina in 2020 after being rescued from an unfortunate home. He is house broken, walks very well on leash heeding commands of heel and sit, and has generally been a great addition to our family. But we noticed some aggressive behavior centered around resource guarding and his sleeping area. He has had a few instances of biting/snapping when anyone encroaches on his food or startles him while he is sleeping. We have 3 young children, one of which was bitten in an incident last year when she startled him while he was sleeping. Since then we have been very apprehensive about letting our little ones play with him. We had another incident not too long ago where Bogey was trying to eat our other dogs food, and when we intervened he again got aggressive and tried to bite. So we have made the difficult decision to rehome him. In our opinion he would be best suited in a single dog household, with no young children under the age of 10.

Story
Juniper is a sweet playful girl. She could spend hours running around and sniffing everything and anything, so a fenced in yard would be best for this large gal. You'll find that this spunky pup loves treats and is sure to tell you all about it in true hound fashion. With a high prey drive, cats in the home are a no go for this girl. Juniper has lived successfully with another dog in the past, so she may do well with another dog of similar size and energy as her in her new home as well. Teens + would be the best match for Juniper as she can be a little demanding and is a large gal. If you're looking for a true loyal companion who would be a fantastic hiking companion, Juniper is your girl! If you are interested in applying for Juniper, please fill out an adoption application!
