Story
Good with: Dogs, kids Not tested with: Cats House trained: Yes Energy level: Medium Noise level: Quiet Hi there, Im Devlin! Im the sweetest, most gentle hound mix youll ever meet, and I cant wait to be adopted! My foster mom says I would be the perfect starter dog because I am so well-behaved, well-mannered, and easy to train! I love babies and kids, and play great with every other dog Ive met. Im also super quiet in the house, crate trained, and potty trained, so Im a real gem! Because Im so easy-going, I get to go everywhere with my foster mom. That means that I already know all about cars, grocery shopping, farmers markets, coffee shops, and restaurants. I love adventures, and Im pretty unflappable, even in busy, loud environments. When I came to D.C. my foster mom was amazed by how quickly I settled in. At first I was a little nervous about all the traffic, but now I love walking around the city, exploring! Im amazing on leash 90% of the time, and a normal puppy on leash 10% of the time. That means that I sometimes pull if I see a bird or a squirrel, but mostly I just walk right next to my foster mom. My foster mom has taught me a lot of ways to get treats, so Im pretty good at tricks. I know how to sit and lay down, and crate and bed. Im also good at waiting to go in and out of the apartment door until she tells me to. Another thing Ive learned is how to be a good work from home buddy. Even when Im having a puppy energy moment, I always calm down after about 10 minutes, and usually decide to take a nap. If Im not in the mood for sleeping in one of my four beds (Im not spoiled, Im well-cared for!), Im really good at finding ways to entertain myself. I love to eat out of puzzle feeders and snuffle mats and Im obsessed with bully sticks. When my foster mom goes into the office, I head to daycare, where Im an easy favorite with the staff. They say I play great with absolutely every other dog! Its true! I love my friends. One of my favorite things to do is to go to the dog park, or have a playdate! In case you arent already in love with me, Im going to finish off with a list of the cutest things I do. The top 8, by popular vote are: Giving hugs (I lay my head on my foster moms shoulder every morning when I come out of my crate) Sitting in my foster moms lap whenever shes on the floor Watching the laundry in the machine Sleeping up-side-down with my tongue out Shoving my head into a bush and then sneezing my way out of the bush Sitting sideways (youll know it when you see it) Playing with my toys by myself Army crawling around underneath my foster moms bed for strangely long periods of time So thats me, Devlin! If you think wed be a good match, I cant wait to meet you, and be part of a fur-ever family! My foster guardian says: My favorite thing about Devlin is her sweet personality and super soft ears! Likes: Long walks, hikes, dog parks, fetch, running, zoomies, toys, training tricks, and snuggling! My ideal home: Id do great in a variety of homes since Im so easy going. I would do great in an apartment or a home, and I could be a great dog for a first time owner.
