We are guessing Rocky to be between 5-7 years old. He is calmer and would be fine as an only dog but also does okay with other dogs, he just doesn't seem to need a canine companion. He is more set in his ways and is relearning that people are good. He enjoys being pet and is social, but he doesn't like to be forced to do something before he is ready. We anticipate that he will bond quickly with his new family, but would do best if that family could give him the space that he needs while he learns to trust them. He is completely crate trained. If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting this baby, please fill out an application. They currently are fixed, up to date on shots, wormings, preventatives and are microchipped (with lifetime registration). When Timber first came to SICSA back in January of 2022, he was a rude and rowdy young lad with no training and zero socialization with other animals. Fast-forward to a year and a half later, and you would hardly recognize him as the same dog! Timber has been working his tail off (pun intended) with our behavior team; he now knows some basic commands and has started making friends with other dogs! Timber loves puzzle toys, scent work, and exploring the great outdoors with his human and canine friends. If you're looking for an active companion to join your family, you might belong on #TeamTimber! We are located at 8172 Washington Church Road, Washington Township, Ohio 45458 and are open Monday through Saturday from 12pm - 7pm, and Sunday from 12pm - 6pm. Zeke (and Stitch) - These two have been the best of friends since I picked them up from pet wow on the same day. I don't think they knew each other before they came to SAAP, but they have grown very close over the last couple of months. They were both set to be euthanized in February, and are now living the life of luxury in a house! They aren't a bonded pair and don't have to go to the same home, but would probably love to do so. They would be a great fit for anyone looking for two dogs. They are both crate trained and house broken. They were both very very skinny when they came to SAAP, and Zeke has gained weight easily and quickly. Stitch has a hard time keeping weight on because he's very very active and seemingly has a very high metabolism. They're both playful, energetic, gentle, and super sweet. They would love a house with a fenced-in yard. They're great with kids and cats. They're still working on manners, but they are just a little jumpy at times. She is also only a medium girl at 45 lbs— the perfect size in our eyes! She came into rescue at 6 months old & was adopted, but was returned 3 years later because the adopter was having a baby. Sweet Lucinda did nothing wrong, & she’s looking for a forever, loving family this time around! Lucinda loves playing with energetic dog friends after slow meets & is working on manners (she can get a tad bit excited for some hehe)! She would love an active home where she can go on adventures with her people— a favorite of hers is hiking! A family that gives her lots of belly rubs? Hope has the most beautiful, but serious face! She’s an adult, 26lb beagle mix who recently found herself dumped at a rural shelter. Shelter life can be very scary and noisy, so Hope is still a bit timid and needs time to trust. However, she is nothing but gentle and sweet! She’s great with kids, esp a bit older ones only because babies and toddlers might scare her. I’m confident she will grow out of this as she gets more comfortable and secure. She loves other dogs and would do best in a home with another doggie sibling to show her that the world isn’t so scary and people can be trusted.
