Meet Nala. This sweet girl is around 7 years old and was adopted out as a young puppy and recently returned as she needs a home with no other pets or kids. She is a very smart dog and knows how to climb fences. She would do best in a home with a privacy fence or a tie out with supervision. She is very stressed out here at the shelter and would love to find her forever family. She enjoys going on walks and walks great on a leash. She is spayed, current on vaccines, negative for heartworm, and microchipped.

My name is Imogen and I am a black & white beagle/mix. I am an intact female (I will be spayed before I am adopted) and I am 7 months old. I was transferred here from another shelter/rescue through the Ames Animal Shelter`s Third Chance program on 12/11/2024. I am used to staying inside during the day and inside during the night. I am still learning how to be potty trained. I am a high energy dog and I can live with an owner with no prior pet owning experience. The shelter staff is not sure if I am used to being crated during the day. and I am great about walking nicely on leash. I would do well with some puppy obedience training to set me up for success. I do not have a history of trying to escape the home or yard, but the shelter staff always recommends owners be mindful that I do not accidentally get out a door or escape the yard. I would like a standard height fence to help keep me inside the yard. I can be good with men, women, and children. I can be good with other dogs and I can be good with cats.All dogs are tested for heartworms and given flea preventatives. They are also tested for intestinal parasites and receive routine dewormings. Dogs are vaccinated against distemper, rabies, and bordetella, spayed/neutered before adoption, and have a microchip. Adoption fees include the initial automated registration of the microchip at the time of adoption.
