Story
Meet Jojo! Age: approx 10+ years old. Some of his paperwork says 10, 13, and 16. We honestly don't know. He is a senior, he is fairly active for his age and gets around well despite his sight issues. Breed: toy poodle, unknown if mixed. Size: est 7lbs, needs to gain a few pounds. Training: crate and leash trained, working on house training and doing well. Good with dogs/cats? Yes to both. Good with men/women/kids? Yes, he gets along with any and every one he meets. Personality: a little shy initially but once he learns his surroundings, he is very affectionate and friendly. He is mostly blind but gets around very well. Our vet was surprised at how well he navigates a new room. He still has some spunk despite his age. He is curious and loves to sniff around the yard. He is very food motivated. Reason for rescue: seized by animal control, hoarding case. Jojo is neutered, heartworm negative, and current on vaccinations and preventatives. He is missing most of his teeth so he eats soft food. If you are interested in adding this sweet baby to your family, please message for an adoption application. Adoption fee: waived, however it must still be a great match for both Jojo & his new family.November 10, 2024, 11:46 am

Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue:12/13/24 Reason for being in rescue: Turned in to a NC shelter after his owner died and no one in the family would take the boys Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs?  Pepper is a very senior dog - with all the joys and challenges that can bring Weight: 10.6 lb Height: 9 in Spayed/Neutered: No Adoption Fee: $1- I am priceless Fence needed? No What kind of home would be best for me?  Meet Pepper, a loving and social senior poodle looking for his forever home. Pepper is a friendly and lovable senior poodle who, along with his brother Mocha, was surrendered to a shelter after their owner passed away. Having spent over a decade in a loving home, these two boys are incredibly bonded and must be adopted together. Pepper is a devoted companion who thrives on attention and companionship. He loves to snuggle with his brother and will happily demand your attention at every opportunity. Whether you're leaving the room or heading out for a quick errand, you can count on Pepper to let you know he’s not happy about being left behind! Because Pepper is so attached to Mocha, they must be adopted together. While they are fine with other small dogs, their bond with each other is their priority. A new home with a fenced yard would be perfect, as they both love spending time outdoors, though they’re not big on long walks. Pepper and Mocha do enjoy indoor comforts, snuggling in warm blankets or on the couch with their owner and when they get constant attention, they feel like they are in heaven. Pepper is in good health for his age. He does need a soft food diet as the old guy is toothless and he has a cataract in his left eye that does not affect his ability to get around. Pepper would be a wonderful addition to a home where someone can give him the attention he craves. He’s always happy to accompany you, whether you're running to the store, grabbing a coffee, or just relaxing at home. If you’re looking for two adorable, affectionate seniors to share your heart and home, Pepper and Mocha might just be the perfect match! What’s my personality like? Pepper is a loving senior poodle who adores people and, of course, his brother Mocha. He’s expects to be the center of your world. Pepper gets along well with other dogs, but Mocha will always be his number one BFF. How do I act when I first meet new people? Pepper loves people and expects to be the center of everyone’s world. He is a loving and social senior. Other tips and tidbits: Pepper was born on 3/4/2010.   House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. December 24, 2024, 8:58 pm

Mocha is a friendly and lovable senior poodle who, along with his brother Pepper, was surrendered to a shelter after their owner passed away. Having spent over a decade in a loving home, these two boys are incredibly bonded and must be adopted together. Mocha is seeking a forever home where he can enjoy his Golden Years in comfort and style. He loves to cuddle with his brother, and the two of them will demand your attention. Whether you’re moving from room to room or just running a quick errand, Pepper and Mocha are sure to voice their displeasure whenever you leave their side. Mocha has grown accustomed to the comforts of a loving home—being well cared for, enjoying delicious meals, treats, fresh water, and cozy spots to rest, including warm beds and couches. He especially loves snuggling up with his brother Pepper and their owner. Because Mocha is so attached to Pepper, they must be adopted together. While they are fine with other small dogs, their bond with each other is their priority. A new home with a fenced yard would be perfect, as they both love spending time outdoors, though they’re not big on long walks. Mocha is in good health for his age. At his vet exam in early December 2024, he performed like a champ – “bright, alert, and responsive.” The vet also noted “his heart sounds good and he doesn’t have any signs of cataracts present.” He had some dental work recently but he’s a very spry old guy who’s ready to enjoy the rest of his life with you! Mocha is a vocal little guy who enjoys being the center of attention. He’s friendly and welcoming to everyone he meets, always letting you know when he’s around! He gets along well with other small dogs, though his brother Mocha is his favorite companion. With his gentle personality, Mocha is sweet, gentle, and loyal, and loves being showered with affection.
