Story
Meet Minnie! Minnie is a tiny 3 year old Toy Poodle, weighing just 3.6 pounds—but don’t let her size fool you, she has a heart full of love just waiting to blossom! This delicate little girl is quiet and gentle, though she will bark at sudden movements. She’s still adjusting to the world around her and can be a bit skittish, but with time and patience, she’s sure to come out of her shell. Minnie is fine around other dogs but doesn’t seem particularly interested in them—she’s much more focused on feeling safe and secure in her environment. She uses a wee-wee pad like a pro and has a good appetite, showing that she’s ready to settle into a loving home. Her ideal family will be in a low-traffic, quiet home with a patient adopter who understands that Minnie needs time to build trust. If you’re looking for a tiny companion who just needs a little extra love to flourish, Minnie could be the perfect match for you!

Story
Where in the world is Waldo? He is currently here in Arkansas entwining himself around his foster mom’s heart. This debonair little heartbreaker weighs in at a whopping 4 pounds and loves to snuggle. He is one of the 3 little poodles that were rescued in February and life is only getting better for him as he looks forward to becoming a cherished family member in his new forever home. Waldo’s date of birth is 8/15/18 and his color is listed as cream on his papers. His ear mites were cleared up and after being brought up to date on vaccinations, he had a much-needed grooming. His groomer sent us a before and after picture of him which is shared with you on this site. Such a dramatic transformation. Waldo was neutered and had a dental, having 5-6 teeth removed 3/6/25. Waldo is heartworm negative and is being kept on heartworm and flea and tick prevention to maintain his good health. If you would like to adopt this handsome little charmer, who is currently being fostered in Arkansas, and give him the kind of life he so richly deserves. Waldo’s adoption donation is $700 which includes the $165 transport fee. Due to his tiny size, Waldo will only be considered for homes with older children. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
Plum is small, delicate, beautiful, and very, very opinionated! She likes being pet and held. She does not like other animals. She likes human attention. She does not like having her teeth brushed. And her list of likes and dislikes continues on and on. Plum was rescued from a puppy mill, but has settled into life as a pampered pet well, and she is ready for her forever home. Plum is approximately 3 years old, and is friendly and affectionate with people. She is generally healthy, but does have dental disease. She will receive a complete dentistry prior to her adoption, but her adoptive family must be prepared to provide dental care in the future, therefore we are looking for adopters with an extensive veterinary history. Plum's adoption also includes her full series of DHLPPi (distemper), Bordetella, and Rabies vaccies; heartworm and tick-bourne disease testing; spay; microchip; and 30 days of free pet insurance. Plum is good with people, but does not like other animals, and must be an only pet. Plum can live in an apartment; she does not need a yard. However, because she dislikes other animals, she is not a candidate for doggy day care, therefore she needs a family whose work schedule does not take them away for 10-12 hours per day. Because of her small size, Plum is not a good fit for families with young children, but older children who are calm (~8 and older) and teenagers are fine. Plum loves to be held and to sit on your lap, and she will make a great couch cuddle buddy. More than anything, she likes human attention. Please email CAHadoptions@gmail.com if you have a Plum sized space on your lap.

Story
Please meet the often imitated but never duplicated Dorothy Rag! Dorothy is just 12 years young and weights around 8 lbs. She loves kids, dogs, cats, any creature you can find but rest assured with only 1 teeth she promises to never be a violent liability! She is super food motivated and does need soft food on account of her lack of teeth. She is not a fast mover and shaker - she walks a little funny but still gets around as needed! She tries pretty hard on to make it on the wee wee pad but this a work in progress. A recent x-ray showed a little spot on her back leg which could be anything under the sun but given her age she would not be a candidate for treatment no matter what it is…so we say we need someone that will just let Dorothy Rag be Dorothy Rag and be her best self in the days she has left! Interested in becoming a forever home for this lovely lady? Fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we don't go any further without an application. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws. We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting Bailey. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Bailey the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us. For immediate consideration, please attach your application to the initial inquiry to help us expedite the process. Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!

Story
Stormy is a very gentle, affectionate little guy. He would do best in a quiet household. He won’t do well with very small children under the age of 10 years because he’s easily startled by loud noises and sudden movements. He does get along well with other dogs, just shy with unknown people but He doesn’t have any fear aggression whatsoever. He does pretty well outside on a harness and leash and he will do potty outside if you take him on a walk but he still has accidents inside. DO NOT CONTACT ME IF YOU’RE NOT 100% SURE THAT YOU WANT A DOG!!! You can meet him ONCE in person to see if he’s the right dog for you before making your decision to adopt him but ONLY ONCE! THERE IS AN ADOPTION FEE!
