Story
Hi. I'm Toby, an 11-year-old neutered male Bichon Frise mix. I was adopted from Safe Place a few years ago but sadly my owners passed away. I returned to Safe Place and I'm sure I can adapt to a new home. Currently, I'm with a foster. I'm crate trained and walk well on a leash. I get along with other dogs, but I'm afraid I do like to give cats a hard time. I'm not sure what I'd do if I ever caught one, but maybe it's best if I don't get the chance! I'm very good about riding in the car. I'm very friendly and good natured. I don't like to be left alone, so if you're home most of the time or if you have other dogs that can keep me company, I would like that. I would do best in a home with adults or older children. Apart from declining vision due to age, I'm very healthy and have had good veterinary care. I will need regular grooming, however. I was recently groomed by Safe Place. My $200 adoption donation includes vaccinations, a microchip, a recent Heartworm test which was negative, a leash and collar, my own crate, and a month's worth of food. Story
Meet Nube (means cloud in spanish). He is a full breed long-haired Northern Inuit Dog (sorry Eskimo dog was the closest thing to the breed). We are fosting him on behalf of Mountain Myst Northern Inuits. We fully intended to keep him but our schedules make it difficult to handle his energy. He is fully trained from the 2 week boarding program at K9 off-leash training where he has free refresher training FOR LIFE! He is great with our 10 year old daughter but I would not leave him alone with smaller children while he still has his puppy energy. He is very vocal (howling and whining) but can be managed with a bark collar. He is kennel trained and stays in it overnight and while we are at work. Backyard is required.

Story
HIGHLIGHTS:Needs another confident dog already in the homeNeeds a fenced-in backyardExperienced and patient familyNeeds an adult only home#### Meet Fancy, a resilient two-year-old Lhasa Apso weighing 12 pounds. Though initially shy, Fancy actively works with our dedicated staff to build courage and improve social interactions. With these interactions every day, she dreams of a patient and loving family who will support her journey of growth. With the right loving and patient family, Fancy will undoubtedly thrive and become a beloved lifelong companion.Fancy needs a home with an experienced owner to continue to help her grow. Although still shy of people, Fancy will gladly take treats. She also loves to play and throw a toy around as she zooms around the play yard. She would benefit from a small or medium-sized confident dog in the home to help show her the ropes. She can be weary of big dogs at first, but she just needs a chance to get to know them. Fancy is working on her leash training and her comfort level with humans, but has already come so far! Because of this she will need a home with a secure fenced in yard of at least 4' in height. * * * *Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. Because some of our dogs are very under socialized, they may not be a good fit for young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Some of our more fearful dogs will do best in a home with another dog and a securely fenced yard. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, many of these dogs come around with patience and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience.
