Story
Charlie was picked up near the beginning of January and was taken to the San Martin Shelter. He was a stray who was pretty matted and dirty so the shelter shaved him down. Charlie waited for someone to come and find him but no one came. He was adopted but was returned the next day. Another couple came and took Charlie to foster. They discovered something very important about Charlie. Charlie is deaf!!! Charlie didn't know any deaf dog signs to be able to communicate with humans and he had no way of telling humans that! The couple who fostered him felt that they were not experienced with teaching him so they called CIW. We have worked with another deaf little poodle and felt we could help Charlie. He has already learned some command signs and is learning others. He is a very smart little boy who just wants to please and to be loved. He is a healthy little who is current on his vaccinations, is neutered, and  is microchipped with lots of puppy energy. Charlie needs a family who want to spend lots of time with this little guy and give him time to learn how to communicate. Is that your family?. Please note: Charlie (two) is a Special Needs dog.Charlie (two) should be adopted with his best friendCharlie (two) has some separation anxietyNeeds a securely fenced yardMore information & application [ts=1733241709&src=aap]

Story
NorCal Poodle Rescue Male.   $350.00. 14 punds.  4 years old Leo is my name- being adorable is my game. I am 4 years old and about 14 pounds. I am the bestest boy. I get along with other dogs and people alike. Not sure how I would do with children, but older kids should be okay. I like all the usual dog kinds of things, running, walking, cuddling with a loved one. I am super cute and I bet we could be besties!  I came from the shelter, the people who had me did not take good care of me, but I know I will be much luckier in my next home!     Interested adopters should complete the NCPR Adoption Interest Form.  An adoption counselor will contact you. We only adopt our dogs to families in Northern California. Thank you for your interest.       A Poodle's Best Friend Since 1985 August 3, 2024, 12:21 am

Story
NorCal Poodle Rescue Male- 8-year-old toy poodle. 6 lbs. $250.00 **Senior for senior- $100.00.  They call me Lovey, and when you meet me, you will see why. I am a senior- so I am looking for a senior adopter because they will know that just because we are older does not mean we are not super fun!  My owner got sick and could not keep me- my groomer stepped in to foster me for a bit, and she and my current foster both say what a great little guy I am. I am very loving.  I am a little guy, and I would enjoy a quiet household. It’s not that I don’t like kids- it is just that being small it would not be the best idea to have a lot of rough housing. My favorite place will be right by you, every step you take to keep track of possible snacks or to be in arms range for petting, and belly rubs. I am not a lop dog, but I do like to be petted. I like other dogs and I like to go on short walks. I get better on the leash all the time. I had lost a lot of hair before coming to rescue and the vet put me on some thyroid meds and fixed that right up. I have been having a hard time with remembering the housebreaking rules- I lived outside a lot; it is a continuing training.  ** if you are 65 or greater then Lovey’s adoption price is only $100.00 Interested adopters should complete the NCPR Adoption Interest Form.  An adoption counselor will contact you if you are a match for Lovey. We only adopt our dogs to families in Northern California. Thank you for your interest.       A Poodle's Best Friend Since 1985 August 3, 2024, 12:21 am

Story
NorCal Poodle Rescue 4 years old Male 15 pounds.  $350.00 Hi Friends, my name is Dominic, and I am so ready for a new home. I was picked up by the shelter and I had something stuck in my throat so thank dog they were able to help me. ( it was part of a bone and he had to be sedated to remove it.)  I am a happy guy, but I can be easily scared- they think it is because what I have been through. I am not that big of a fan of harnesses or sudden movements. My perfect home will be adults only, or children over 12 who are dog savvy. I am a good watch dog and I enjoy singing the song of my people- but I am kind of a blank canvas- no one has spent much time teaching me what it is like to be a good doggy citizen. But- I have a feeling we could be bestest buds. I just got groomed, so you can see one pic of my with my fancy new do.  Interested adopters should complete the NCPR Adoption Interest Form.  An adoption counselor will contact you if you are a match to Dominic. We only adopt our dogs to families in Northern California. Story
NorCal Poodle Rescue 350.00. female. Very sweet and very shy Molly is a very sweet and frightened girl. She has been in foster care for a few months and has been decompressing. She was found as a very scared stray. Molly needs someone with a lot of patience and experience who can help bring her out of her shell. She is still afraid of the leash so we expect she has had some very bad experiences. A no kids house is a must since she is easily scared. She will hide, but try to get close to her person. She has had a rough start to her life, so she really needs a hero. Interested adopters should complete the NCPR Adoption Interest Form.  An adoption counselor will contact you. We only adopt our dogs to families in Northern California. Story
Olivia is a 10-year-old female dog, weighing about 13 pounds. She is friendly and affectionate towards people, enjoying their company and attention. However, Olivia does not get along well with other dogs and prefers to be the sole pet in the household. Additionally, she has a heart condition, which requires careful management and attention to her health and activity levels. Given her medical needs and preference for human companionship, Olivia would thrive in a quiet, loving home where she can receive the dedicated care and affection she deserves from her owners. ##2211361##

Story
Skipper  is happy and full of life. He loves to be active on hikes, walks, playing with toys, and running around in the backyard. He can also slow down and cuddle on the couch with you.   We’ve started training with him, and he would greatly benefit from a person who is committed to continuing his training and helping him progress.  He is stubborn, so training is key. Energy Level?  Medium to High House trained?  Yes, 100%. He had never had an accident in the house. He routinely potties  about 15ish minutes after each meal. Describe how they are on leash?   Skipper  LOVES his walks. He does tend to pull, but we are working on it. Describe how they are with other dogs? Skipper would love to be the only dog in the home. Once Skipper is thoughtfully paired with the right dog and they play styles match, Skipper loves to play. Skipper's high energy play, can be much for some lower energy dogs. Have they been around cats or other animals? How were they?  He has not been introduced to cats. Commands they know?  Sit What are their favorite things?  Toys, cuddles, walks, wrestling with their human  What do they need to work on?  Polite dog behavior and walking without pulling. How are they when left alone? How long have they been left alone?  Skipper is left two -three times a week and he stays in an xpen for about 6 hours. He whines for a few minutes then sleeps most of the time and is mostly quiet. Where do they sleep?  In his xpen or crate What is their ideal home?  Skipper would thrive in an active home where he can get plenty of exercise. Ideally, he’d be the only dog, and he excels in an environment with clear structure and routine. We’ve started training with him, and he would greatly benefit from a person who is committed to continuing his training and helping him progress.
