Story
Meet Gooil!  He's a vey handsome sweet guy!  He is a 2 year old that was rescued from a breeding farm before heading to a dog meat farm in South Korea.  We have partners we work with there that pull these dogs from the worst horrors imaginable.  Many of these dogs start off in horrific puppy mill type facilities on tiny rabbit cage size wire crates in complete filth.  If they are not sold at 6 or 8 weeks then they either stay for a couple years to be used to breed more and then are sold off to the meat trade, or they are sold off right away.  Jindo's and Tosa's are the most common meat type dogs, and are very commonly bred specifically for their meat and the meat farms also act as breeding farms until they reach a good age and weight. South Korea is one of the only countries that actually farms dogs for their meat.   Many restaurants will serve a dish called " bosintang ", which stands for "dog meat soup". It's a popular dish in South  Korea,  and is said to act as an aphrodisiac for men.    Little dogs are used for elixirs and potions.  The younger generation is mostly against this practice and many choose to not eat them, and we can only hope in time with education and generations of change that an end will come to this horrific trade.  Gooil and some of his friends have been flown here for a chance at a future and a real life.  These are miracle dogs that they are alive today.  Our adoption fee is $600 which helps offset some of the flight costs.  If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application form at  https://form.jotform.com/oscarlucy/dog-adoption-app December 19, 2024, 4:43 pm

Story
This is Coco, a 10 year old, 9lb, female Toy Poodle that is absolutely precious in person! She came to us when her owner passed away and the adult children took her in. Not more than a few months after taking in Coco, they dumped her at the shelter where she was so scared. We got her out immediately and into a wonderful foster home. Coco came to us with double ear infections, a mouth full of bad teeth, and flea infested. We had her treated by our vet who did tell us she has a low grade heart murmur that does not require any medication at this time. We also had her full dental done and because of the low grade heart murmur, they required full bloodwork and an echocardiogram done which came back with nothing of any alarms or major issues. She recently had an xray on her trachea for some coughing and they did diagnose her with a very slight collapsing trachea which is very normal for these toy breeds. Right now, she does not require any medications, except for some natural drops that are added to her food 2x a day. Her future adopters will need to keep up with regular vet visits so they can keep tabs on any changes. Coco has also had her eyes checked and right now she has the normal, older dog cloudy eyes, but also do not require any meds at this time and yes, she still has her sight. We have had Coco in our rescue for almost a year now, so we are looking for a forever home for her that will be patient and loving during her time of settling in. She needs a home with an owner that is retired or works from home. She can be your one and only dog in the home or she can be with another calm, older dog. She doesn't do well in a chaotic home. Due to her trachea, she cannot go on walks with a leash as it triggers her coughing. She can go in a stroller, but honestly, she just prefers and does best just being home. She LOVES laying on the couch with you and being by your side. She is basically a homebody and needs that same type of personality in an owner. She would do best in a home with a yard to go potty and sunbathe. Coco is such a little petite cutie and deserves a forever home that will love and cherish her as much as we do! Coco is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. We only adopt in the Greater Los Angeles areas as an in person meet/greet, home check, and trial period are required. Story
Kona has been with our family for nine years since he was a tiny puppy. Kona is protective, empathetic, and eager to lead. His favorite place is as close as possible to you on your favorite chair or sofa. He enjoys short walks and can go almost two miles. When Kona was about 2 years old, he was attacked by a large dog and spent about 6 months recovering. Kona doesn't get along with most other dogs now but can be great pals with some, usually small female dogs. Now, we've relocated from the Bay Area to Santa Monica and our kids have become busy teens. We parents are now also both working leaving Kona alone when someone was with him all the time his whole life. We are seeking a home for Kona to have a companion, couple, or family ready for a tiny guardian, couch cuddler, and friend with a "heck ya" attitude.

Little Tia Marie has been a show dog all her life. She is now retired and looking for a Momma to love her. She is 5 lbs. of cuteness! She is sweet, quite and cuddly. Tia Marie is potty trained if you take her out on a potty schedule but indoors she wears 'pull ups' just in case. Her eye site is declining but she finds her way around just fine and at your feet for you to pick her up and sit with you. She is adorable in a stroller going for walks. She is about 10 years old and is a healthy and happy little girl. Tea Cup Poodles lifespan is about 18 - 20 years with good care.  Interested in the sweet little angel?
