Story
Yeti is a sweet, initially shy, Poodle mix girl who is about 3 1/2 years old. She is said to be mixed with Yorkie. She is happy and playful and plays well with other dogs. She is initially timid and shy on first meeting and we believe by her behavior she wasn't treated very well but she is improving dramatically. Yeti would probably do best in a quiet home without children. Like many of our rescued dogs we are not sure how much housetraining Yeti has. Her owners said she was "mostly" trained. She goes outside to potty on her own when she has access to a protected dog door area. Yeti will require brushing and professional grooming every 6-8 weeks. Yeti's adoption fee is $450 This fee includes at least one health exam at our veterinarian while in our care, spaying or neutering, all vaccinations including rabies (as permitted by age), a pre-adoption professional grooming and a microchip with lifetime membership that never will cost you a fee. All dogs also leave with a new collar and or harness and leash as well as a gift bag which includes among other things, a starter bag of the quality kibble that is being fed at the rescue. Adoption fees also allow us the ability to put funds towards the next homeless or unwanted dog in need of rescue! If you would like to be considered to for this adoption or any of our amazing rescues, please fill out the application with the help of this link. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/AZST/Dog. We review each application carefully. Please understand that sometimes we get numerous applications for specific dogs and as a volunteer-based rescue, we do not always have the time to respond to each one. We do our best to choose the most suitable home for each dog based on their specific personality and needs. Please note you MAY NOT be contacted for up to 10 days to schedule a meet and greet if your family is the most suitable for this rescue dog. Regrettably, we do not have the manpower currently to contact all applicants. We keep ALL applications in our database so please feel free to contact us when you see another dog of interest. We appreciate all applicants and do our best to pair ever dog and family for a successful and happy life.

Story
PWRESCUE.ORG Special needs - dominate personality, need experienced owner.*PHOENIX METRO AREA ONLY* Meet Leo, a distinguished 7-year-old, 22-pound Lhasa/Poodle mix. Leo came to us when his previous owner could no longer care for him, and now he’s looking for a special home where his unique personality can truly shine. Leo embodies the strong-willed and independent spirit typical of Lhasa Apsos—so much so that it’s said, “when a Lhasa Apso looks in the mirror, he sees a lion.” To thrive, Leo needs owners who appreciate this assertive nature and can establish a relationship of mutual respect. Admire his independence, but also consistently enforce the rules to earn his respect. Patience will be key as Leo adjusts to a new environment; it may take a few weeks for him to settle in. Once he’s comfortable, he will be a loyal and devoted companion. Though he’s not a cuddler, Leo craves love and attention and will show his affection in his own way. He’s vocal and might use growling to express his attitude, not as a sign of aggression. He has never bitten anyone but understanding his vocal cues is important. Leo enjoys walks, playing in the backyard, and curling up with his human at bedtime. He responds well to strong, yet gentle leadership, so a home where his owners can match his energy and maintain consistent, respectful interactions would be ideal. Leo would be happiest in a home with just adults or possibly another submissive dog (but not a younger one). Due to his personality, he is not likely to be a good fit for a home with young children. With patience and understanding, Leo will reward his new family with unwavering loyalty and love. Leo is up-to-date on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $280. If you’re ready to provide Leo with the home he’s been waiting for, please visit https://pwrescue.org and click on the "Adopt" button to complete an application.Pathways Home Animal Rescue November 9, 2024, 3:45 pm
