Story
Abby is the definition of 'resilience.' By no fault of her own, she was abandoned at an airport in Georgia which resulted in her temporary stay at an animal shelter, and she has spent time in four different New Rattitude foster homes in Georgia, Illinois, and Michigan which involved two flights by private plane! Through it all, she has adapted easily and remained sweet and loving. She gives equal affection to all people (including children) with gentle licks, snuggles, and tail wags and gets along with other dogs and cats.  Believed to be 3-4 years-old and weighing 13 lbs., Abby is crate-trained and mostly house-trained. She is good on car rides. Although she LOVES her regular walks, a securely fenced yard is a must for Abby because she is a fast runner and enjoys the freedom of exploring. Inside the home, she likes playing with toys – if a human or another dog isn't around to play tug with or throw a ball, she'll entertain herself by tossing her toys in the air.  Abby's ideal home would include someone who is home much of the day. Understandably after all she has been through, she gets a little anxious when her people go out the door without her (she'll even try to dash the door to go along with them). She is not destructive in the house and can be left loose when no one is around, but she would love the security of a person in her midst for the majority of her day.Resilience is a great quality for a dog to have, but Abby's hope is that she can trade resiliency for the stability of a forever home where she can firmly plant her roots and her loyalty to one very lucky family.  For more photos and videos of Abby, go to https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/abby .Our adoption fee is $200 for adult dogs or $250 for puppies under 6 months old. Story
My name is Midgie and I'm a very sweet and smart 6-year-old, 17 lb. female rat terrier who just wants to play, love, and be loved!I have a beautiful thick coat and a cute curly tail. I am treat-motivated and know a variety of commands such as sit, lie down, off, wait, leave it, go to (get in) crate, come, quiet/no barking. I'm not shy, but I'm usually quite quiet – unless I hear a suspected intruder. I am trustworthy on my own in the house, but I am crate-trained too. I love to chew on toys, and peanut-butter filled Kongs though I'm very respectful and don't chew on anything else.I have been an only dog in the past, but I really love having my foster siblings to play with! I get along well with just about everyone and I like to stay active. Sometimes I don't pick up cues right away when my friends don't want to play. Big dogs can make me a little nervous at first, but I feel fine around dogs my size and my prior family said I do fine with cats.I give gentle kisses and enjoy snuggling up next to my person – especially while sleeping under the covers in bed. During the day I am fully house-trained and have no issues, though I have had a few accidents in the middle of the night during my adjustment period. Despite that, I am a very good girl and have irresistible charm. I ride well in a car and walk well on a leash. I'm exceptionally easy-going and adapt quickly to new surroundings. While I am having a great time in my foster home, I would really love to find forever family and bring them lots of love and joy.Check out some of my glamour shots here: https://imageevent.com/newrattitude/midgie  Our adoption fee is $200 for adult dogs or $250 for puppies under 6 months old.
