Story
Poor Daisy was dumped across the street from her foster moms’ house on Easter Sunday. They watched the car drive away with her chasing behind, but she gave up pretty quickly and started sniffing around to try to figure out where she was. Daisy’s panic was cut short when her foster moms scooped her up and took her to their home.  She was skin and bones, all ribs, hips, and vertebra plainly visible, with scabs and sores all over. She tested positive for heartworm and hookworm. Her foster moms are working closely with their vet to get her healthy for her forever home.  Daisy is a big girl - at 50 lbs emaciated, she’ll likely be 70-80 once she’s filled out. She is estimated to be 4-5 years old.  She quickly fell in love with her foster moms and wants to be as close to them as possible at all times. She’s working on the concept of “personal space” but hasn’t quite grasped it yet.  She gets along well with the resident cats but needs to be leashed around the outside animals (chickens, goats, horses, etc).  She can be dog reactive so needs a home without other dogs and to be walked in areas with low dog traffic.  Because she was starved, she does have some resource guarding issues with food and currently needs to be fed in a crate. She walks amazingly on a loose leash.  She house trained and is working on crate training.  She has not yet been tested with children but with proper introduction, her foster moms expect she would be fine, though she might knock them over trying to get pets. As underweight as she is, she’s still pretty strong!  Daisy loves tug of war and is learning about every other way she can have fun. Meet Lady, a lovely 9-year-old Great Dane mix with a sleek black coat and a frosted face that adds to her charm. Her big brown eyes light up when she’s with people, which is her favorite place to be! Lady’s energy is perfectly balanced—whether you’re up for an adventure or just hanging out, she’s right there with you.She’s a great car rider, doesn’t mind loud noises, and is a model house guest. Lady is house-trained and always lets you know when she needs to go outside—no accidents here! She’s also independent, so she’s fine being left alone when you need to step out.Lady is one smart cookie! She already knows “sit” and “stay,” and she’s eager to learn more. With her love of treats (especially green beans) and her playful spirit, teaching her new tricks will be a joy. She’s also a huge fan of affection—give her pets, ear rubs, and scratches, and you’ll be her best friend forever.Lady loves people of all ages and would prefer to be the only dog in the house. She’s also a water lover, so expect some excitement if there’s a chance to splash around!Lady enjoys her walks and is good on a leash. Despite her age, Lady is young at heart, with a tail that never stops wagging. If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal companion who’s as loving as she is low-maintenance, Lady is the one for you!
