Story
Meet Dorian and Lysandra, the cutest 15-week-old yin and yang brother/sister duo, ready for their furever home! Dorian is the flame point Siamese boy who has the sweetest disposition. Commonly referred to as “my snuggle buddy” he is the first among his siblings to settle into my lap after a play session and is genuinely such a kind and gentle little guy. He will often step back and observe if others are chasing after a toy and wait his turn patiently. When it comes time for canned food, though, this guy has plenty to say! Lysandra is the more classic Siamese little lady. She was brought into rescue a couple of weeks after her siblings and is still learning to trust strangers. Every day she gains more and more confidence but will likely never be a kitty who greets strangers at the door; she needs a quiet, peaceful home to be her best self. Lysandra has a huge purr, almost a silent meow, and loves to ask for back scritches by going up on her tallest tippytoes. She’s learning to snuggle and relax into her person when she feels safe, but sudden movement and noises will send her into hiding. The perfect furever home for this duo would be a quieter, consistent home with people who want to truly earn the kitties’ trust. These sweethearts will thrive with humans who seek to bond deeply with them, while truly working on helping the kittens find success and happiness in their home! They do well with other kitties and respect boundaries! While Dorian could do okay with a low-key dog, it could be a bit much for Lysandra. Kids are unlikely to be a good match, except for extremely chill, relaxed older teenagers who are patient, quiet, and cat-savvy. Dorian’s love is quick and joyful, and earning Lysandra’s love and trust will be the most rewarding thing in the world for her family! Are you the special home for these two gorgeous siblings? There is no guarantee of age and breed as a rescue animal's history is unknown. All ages and breeds are best estimate. Adoption fees include a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Story
Aslan is a 3-year-old calm, attention-loving cat looking for his forever home! This handsome boy is very calm; he usually finds himself resting on elevated surfaces (my desk, chair, couch, bed, etc.) He really enjoys his calm, quiet foster home. If you are relaxing, expect him to snuggle on your chest, purr, and rub his head all over your face. Aslan is very chatty. If he feels like you're not paying him enough attention, he will very gently raise his paw and touch your face as to remind you he is the king of the house! This sweet grey and white guy prefers to rest in the areas of your house he's grown comfortable with. His hobbies are eating and seeking the attention of the humans in the house. He’s a pretty chill dude, who enjoys playing for short spurts. He will entertain himself with toys for a minute or two but grow bored quickly. When a human plays with him, he will be interested in the game for 5 minutes—then he usually walks away and tends to his needs. Aslan gets up around 6am and expects breakfast. Dinner is around 5pm. He is very diligent about drinking his water. There are two water bowls throughout the house that he alternated between. He rarely scratches furniture (I've only witnessed this once) opting instead to claw at his scratch post, like the very good boy that he is. He has had some dental surgery in the past, so he does best with wet food. This friendly fellow currently lives in a one-bedroom apartment with no other animals and one adult male. Aslan's ideal home is one where he has a good amount of space to explore, lots of elevated surfaces, windows to look out of and a human or two to always give him the attention and pets he so richly deserves. Someone who works from home or is around a lot would be ideal. This guy has some good kicking skills, so he needs a litter box that has high walls, to ensure the litter stays in the box. He also needs a good brushing daily, to make sure his handsome fur always looks his best. Aslan has always struggled with some ear issues. He shakes his head a lot, but we are not sure what the cause is. It may be worthwhile exploring this with the vet at his next visit, as it seems to affect his head and paws at times. This handsome boy with the cute round face is so ready to bring lots of love to a caring, affectionate home. If you’re ready for a chatty, affectionate companion, step over to the wardrobe and let sweet Aslan into your life! There is no guarantee of age and breed as a rescue animal's history is unknown. Story
May is a six-month-old playful and independent kitten looking for her forever home! This striking tortie seal point girl is very sweet and independent. She loves to keep busy playing with her favorite toys during the day and sleep stretched out along your legs at night. She will spin joyfully when she catches her toy or when she sees the food bowl coming. She is a little chatty, not too much, just to alert you that she would like food and that she has brought a ball over to fetch. She hasn't quite bought into the idea of skritches just yet—she will let you handle her and pet her but she's not quite sure why you're so into her. May loves any snake-like toys and strings and is as adept as a professional soccer player with her sparkle ball toys. She likes to playfully roughhouse with my resident cat, but not too rough; in fact, she would cuddle up full time with her if my resident cat allowed it! May isn't clingy and likes to nap on a comfy chair by the window when I work from home. She is a high-energy young gal and is happy to play by herself with toys but would prefer if you join in on the fun! May is currently living with us in a one-bedroom, fifth-floor apartment with one five-year-old resident cat and no children. She enjoys her kibble throughout the day and doesn't seem to have any food aggression or overeating issues right now. Her favorite treats are the Churu-style ones. She prefers dry food over wet but if it's wet, she'd like the chef to provide salmon and not chicken, please. As a kitten, May will need to go home with a kitten buddy, or to a home with another active young resident cat to show her the ropes. Her ideal home would be with humans who embrace kitten shenanigans, and who can help her direct her high energy in positive outlets like playing. She will need to stay indoors as her sense of adventure is strong. She was found as a stray behind a business in Bloomington and taken to animal control as a three-month-old kitten. She has tried to dart out of the apartment into the hallway a couple times but is learning to stay happy at home where the kibble is! She still has a little bit of a bite reflex if you try to pet her too enthusiastically, so will need continued work with a patient family who can teach her that nips and bites are not socially acceptable communication. May is improving a lot in this area; she is learning that hands are friendly things that give skritches and treats. As a former outdoor-only youngster, May occasionally has unintentional pee accidents, but she is learning fast as she gets more settled indoors; this should keep improving as she feels comfortable in her new home. She does great with my resident cat and is unknown with dogs at this point. May would prefer a home with no young children, but gentle, cat-savvy older children/teens would be okay. This lovely girl has lived a lot of life for someone so young! She is truly ready to live the happy indoor life with a fellow furry pal, with patient, kind people who can help her adjust and savor the joys of fluffy pillows and cat toys. Could that be with you?
