Story
Meet Petunia! Petunia is a 20 pound Bijon mix from Tijuana Mexico who is looking for her forever home!
Petunia is a outdoor loving, affection seeking, curious little girl. This little girl is obsessed with her reflection, stops to say hello every time she passes a mirror. She is admittedly more interested in people than dogs but is excited to meet new friends of all kinds (including cats!) She is very respectful of everyone’s space and is an excellent listener. She responds to her name and your voice when called, even when she’s being mischievous (like trying to rush her friendship with the kitty cat)
Petunia is a PRO at outside. Cars twice her size? No fear. Cyclone level winds? No fear. A loose piece of newspaper blowing in the wind? Suspicious. Conspiracy.
She does get the twistys on walks where she switches sides but other than that, she does great! Petunia hasn’t been here long but she’s doing great with potty training so far. Her new home will have to continue working with her on this!
She is also working on crate training. She has a bit of separation anxiety at first, but will self soothe with time.
We haven’t figured out her favorite toy just yet because she mostly wants scratches and cuddles but she does enjoy a flavored bone chew toy and has stolen a cat toy from her foster brother.
Never far from your side, Petunia wants to be part of a duo and is always ready for an adventure. She is still a bit of an anxious girl as she settles into her new NYC life, but we’re sure she’ll settle in once she finds her forever home.
Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, bordetella, and Lepto. Neutered and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.
To apply to foster/foster to adopt Rosco, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for a foster application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available.
Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue.
