Story
Mamie Located in Sidney NE area 2-4 years old  Tibetan Spaniel fusion is our best guess, maybe with some Peke, I mean who even knows Great with other dogs Unknown with cats Would do best in a home without children or with older children only ‍Currently is not a fan of males, however it could just be the fosters husband, as the other 2 adopted dogs and 1 foster dog from the same situation are fine with men after some patience and time. Doing extremely well with potty training Crate trained and has just started working on basic commands, she's eager to learn and easy to motivate so we believe that she will learn quickly  Fully vetted 30lbs approx  Mamie aka Meep came from Texas a while ago with her puppies. She was a potential with risk as she was extremely bitey. We welcomed her and her brood and began to work with her on tempering her feistiness. Slowly she began to venture out when on a break from her pups. Eventually she trusted us enough to sleep on the couch when taking a break from babies and it continued to progress from there. Now she is 100% attention seeking brattastic lil floofy monster, with the female foster.   Mamie loves her daughter Gigi and we would love to see them adopted together, if not Meeper would do best in a home with another calm and sometimes (rarely) playful dog. Meepies does get hilarious zoomies and does have spurts of playfulness where she engages with other dogs. While her current foster and the pack of canine homies have helped her in learning to dog, she is over it. She would do best with 1-2 other chill dogs that won't walk on her, disturb her or in any way negatively impact her nap time. She would like a dog to play every now and then but a super hyper dog isn't her deal.   Meep Meep is a beautiful girl with a coat that will need grooming, so keep the additional grooming expense in mind.  Momma Meep is going to need patience and time when moving homes. She absolutely will adjust and come Around to be your very best cuddling companion, but she needs to do it on her own timeline, if rushed it could make her backslide. She is beyond worth the extra "work" that she will take to adjust and we know her forever home is absolutely out tjete     If you're interested in helping this sweet girl on a temporary or permanent basis please contact us! ORIGINAL POST Mamie was taken with several other dogs from a very sad breeding/hoarding situation. All dogs lacked socialization but Mamie, being very pregnant at the time she was taken, and then nursing puppies, was very quick to react in a protective manner via air snapping and even nipping. Due to this behavior and lack of socialization she needed a very specific home to land in. We had agreed to take another one of the "feral" dogs from this situation and so we were asked to take this family as well. We were happy to do it. This little lady has grown leaps and bounds in the way of learning to dog. She sleeps on the couch and seeks out dog beds to snooze in. She goes outside and romps around with her doggo friends. Her main issue right now is that she does not like adult males. We are trying to figure out if that's due to the puppies or if she is just not a fan of men. We do believe it's workable as we also have her momma (Millie) who doesn't mind men at all at this point so that gives us hope for Mamie. Mamie actually has a puppy face herself and you can tell she wants to trust and just be the sweet little girl but she is still scared, which knowing her beginning we absolutely understand however she makes positive steps every day. She is a gentle soul who hasn't had a good start to life and is just now learning how to dog. We are very excited for her to be spayed and never have to be a momma again, she can focus on just being Mamie and that's going to be such a relief for her! Mamie has been an amazing momma to her last litter of these 5 little winter wonders but now it's time for Mamie to focus on Mamie, continue to learn how to trust and honestly just how to be a happy little girl!  To Contact Us Message us through our website http://www.highplainspaw.org Message the Facebook Page at https://www.facebook.com/HighPlainsPAW Join and contact us through our FOSTER GROUP: https://www.facebook.com/groups/836373273962895/?ref=share Fill out our Adoption Application at https://www.highplainspaw.org/adoption-application Fill out our Foster Application at  https://www.highplainspaw.org/foster-application Email us at highplainspaw@gmail.com Call our VOICEMAIL at (402)957-1578   $200.00 Adoption Fee  (Which is considered a non refundable donation and being we are a 501c3 organization it is tax deductible.
