Meet Benji this bundle of fun and sense of play is looking for his forever home. As Benji is still a puppy, he has very high energy and loves to play. He is currently learning fetch and is absolutely loving it, anything where he can run around is a big thumbs up in his books. As much as this little guy loves to run in the backyard, he is not the biggest fan of walking on leash, this is something his foster family is working on with him. When he does go on walks, he gets a bit excitable when he sees other dogs and cats, sometimes pulling a bit on the leash when he sees cats specifically. Benji however does amazing with the foster family's dog, and therefore we believe that with slow and proper introductions he would have no problem with other dogs. When it comes to people and kids, Benji prefers slower introductions and one on one interactions, as this little guy is a bit shy. However once he warms up to you he absolutely loves to cuddle.
This little guy loves to be around his people, and prefers not to be left alone at home for too long. As he tends to whine in his crate until you get back home, however during the night he sleeps well in his kennel with no fuss. Due to this Benji is looking for a home that is willing to work on this with him, and preferably have a flexible work schedule. When it comes to smaller animals such as cats and squirrels, Benji does bark at them however he does not have a prey drive. However when it comes to cats, he is not the biggest fan so we believe that a cat free home would suit him better. As Benji is still a puppy, he is still learning the basic commands as well as being house trained. His foster family is working on this with him and he has improved a lot when it comes to going to the bathroom outside. This little guy is a true home body, and is not the happiest when it comes to going on trips in the car.
We believe that Benji would be the perfect addition to a family that loves to spend time at home but still enjoys playtime. A one child home with an older kid would be preferable for Benji, as previously mentioned he is a bit shy and would prefer a calmer household. We do believe that it would be great for Benji to have a dog friend in the house, as he loves to copy the foster family's dog. Benji is so excited to meet his future family, he has so much love to share with his forever home! If you think your home would be a good match for Benji, please complete an adoption application on our website and one of our team members will be in touch with you shortly via email to arrange a phone interview.
