Story
I’ll be honest – when Mika first arrived at Animal Aid, I didn’t spend much time with him. He’s SO smart, SO affectionate, and SO gorgeous, I figured he’d be going home right away. How could anyone pass up this healthy, house-trained, polite, never destructive, always good on-leash, 3-year-old Border Collie???But, as Mika’s days turned into weeks into months, I find myself visiting often.I cherish every moment, but this sweet boy belongs in a home.Mika always greets us with a happy dance and grateful squeaks, eagerly waiting for us to sit down so he can cuddle and snuggle and just LOVE us!That’s what brings him the most joy – giving us all the love he can! He’s the type of dog who looks you in the eyes, studies you, trying to figure out how to please you.Mika would do best in a home with no young children. He adores kids, but Border Collies tend to micromanage, and when tiny humans are around, Mika feels like he needs to supervise. It’s ok in small doses, but living day after day with young children would probably stress him out.Mika doesn’t always enjoy interacting with other dogs – again, that urge to supervise – he’s ok with some, but others make him anxious. So, Mika shouldn’t live with very young children, and he’s dog-selective. If those aren’t issues for you, PLEASE come meet this amazing boy! It’s like he was specially engineered to be a devoted companion and adoring friend – your biggest fan!Mika would love to love you any day (including weekends and holidays) between 9am and noon. He’s waiting for you at Animal Aid Society, 80 Butler Farm Road, Hampton, VA.Interested? Come for a visit any day of the week - 365 days a year between 9am - 12pm. Hope to see you soon!PLEASE NOTE: Animal Aid Society observes a 40 mile adoption radius to facilitate post adoption support and follow ups.
