Story
My husband & I found Penny (and her “sister” Luna) roaming alongside a roadway in Houston. The next day we brought them to the SPCA to have them checked out - they had worms & fleas so we had them treated but thankfully they were overall in good health. We found out that they were 3 mos. old. Penny & Luna were attached to myself and my husband so we kept them! Penny is about 7 yrs old now. She’s a super smart girl, she’s really energetic and protective of those close to her. She’s potty-trained, good around kids (we have a toddler and an infant) & great with other dogs. She’s well-trained & knows sit, sit pretty (begging position), lay down, “paw”(shake right paw), “other” (left paw shake), twirl, “go inside” (go inside doggie den). She’s really a great dog, but with our jobs, 2 young ones & no family in the area to help, it’s become difficult to give her everything she needs & deserves with outdoor exercise, variety of walking trails, playtime, etc.

These pups are in Humble, Texas too!

Story
Oakley was recently returned to us after being rehomed. Based on their experience with him, he is a great companion but would thrive more in a home with a single individual with no kids or other animals at their home. If you do have visitors, he would just need to be isolated from them. Once Oakley picks you as his “person”, he becomes territorial. We have a toddler and do not feel comfortable with Oakley being around him. Our other dog and Oakley tolerate each other indoors but outdoors they have attacked one another on numerous occasions. Other than that, he is great when getting groomed and he has received great reviews from local Doggie Day Cares. No biting or dog fighting with either. He loves playing fetch, cuddling, and running through the yard. He is also house and kennel trained.

Story
Lily is a miniature/toy australian shepherd. Our neighbor witnessed her being dumped, and we took her in. We believe she’s about 6 months old. She was very thin and scared. She still gets a lot of anxiety being in large spaces or around a lot of people. She used to be scared of almost everything outside - tables, grills, fire hydrants, etc. She has come along way but needs the right family that can be patient in working with her. She does not like being alone. She is nervous meeting new people, but once she learns you’re safe, she is the most loving dog. She loves love and loves to be loved. It’s the sweetest thing. She wants to be around people all the time. She wants to be right next to you. She’s so great with kids. She’s not aggressive with people, but she shows dominant behavior with my dog. She will fight over food. I understand that with everything she’s been through but please know it is definitely an issue. I’ve worked with her on potty training, but it’s an issue.
