The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.    The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.   It doesn’t stop there! Yukon Cornelius is a 5-month-old, 39-pound poodle mix who is as cute as he is sweet. This handsome boy loves attention and is always happy to soak up pets and affection once he knows you. He has a gentle, calm presence and does surprisingly well in his kennel, making him an easy companion to spend time with.He can be a little shy when you first meet him, but that melts away once you spend some quality time together. Toys are one of his favorite things, and they’re a great way to help him come out of his shell. With patience and kindness, Yukon Cornelius quickly shows his loving, playful side and is ready to become a loyal best friend.The dog adoption fee is $90. Yeti is a poodle mix, and will need regular grooming maintenance every 4 to 8 weeks, please do not apply if you’re unable to provide such grooming needs. HISTORY Yeti's estimated DOB is May 30, 2025. He was surrendered to us Mid-December at 6.5 months old, as one of two left from a litter that did not get rehomed as young pups. Their parents have been sterilized, and the family needs help placing the remaining pups, so they chose to surrender them to us for help. Yeti is located in Kennewick in Eastern Washington. We advertise our dogs in a variety of locations in an effort to improve their chances of finding great homes. We can assure you, this pup is well worth a road trip! However, if necessary we will arrange transport to bring him to an approved adoptive home within the Pacific Northwest. SOCIALIZATION Yeti is a giant puppy who enjoys playing with other dogs, and snuggling up to his people. He does not have any experience with cats. Yeti doesn't have any experience with pets outside of his household, but he is social and friendly, and his gentle temperament indicates that he would really enjoy a forever home with a canine companion or two. Yeti’s ideal home would be one where he is challenged. He needs someone who is going to keep him active, both physically and mentally! Yeti is entering the doggy teenage stage—also known as the “I forgot everything I’ve ever learned but I’m still very cute” phase. Think of it as his goofy middle school era. He may test boundaries, get distracted by a leaf blowing across the yard, and have opinions about things he didn’t notice before. It’s all normal, temporary, and honestly pretty hilarious. With consistency, patience, and fun training sessions, he’ll grow right through it and come out the other side an amazing adult dog. HEALTH STATUS General info He is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and dewormed. He will be scheduled for his neutering soon and he appears to be in good health. Ferrero Rocher is looking for a family who can give him lots of daily playtime, attention, training, and mental enrichment. He has a good history with other dogs, though any introductions should be done slowly. He can be reactive and may be too overwhelming for some dogs. He is looking for a home without cats. Ferrero Rocher can be jumpy and rowdy and will likely do best with just dog-experienced older teens (16+) and adults.
