Story
Dominique is an extremely handsome, very social, black with a touch of white on his chest, male standard poodle born on 3/4/23. He currently weighs about 60 pounds and is a burning, burning hunk of love for sure, so it goes without waying that Dominique loves attention and is ready to bond with his special human. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, received a Proheart 6 shot and is also being kept on flea and tick prevention to maintain his good health. His adoption donation is $700 plus $165 transport fee. If you would like to adopt Dominique the first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application, please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
Meet Lily and Moonlight: A Bonded Mother-Daughter DuoLily, an almost 5-year-old apricot Poodle, and her nearly 2-year-old daughter, Moonlight, a black Labradoodle, are a sweet and inseparable pair looking for a forever home. Recently surrendered by their previous owners due to lack of time, these two were well taken care of, and now that all their vaccinations are up to date and they are spayed, they’re ready to find a new loving family.Lily and Moonlight are bonded and must stay together. They adore humans and will thrive as the only dogs in their new home, as they haven’t had much socialization with other pets. Cats, unfortunately, aren't their cup of tea. While their current photos are "pre-grooming," we’re working on getting them spruced up, so new pictures will be available soon. But don’t let their current look fool you—these girls are beautiful inside and out!If you're a Poodle breed lover, this is your chance to welcome a delightful pair. Lily and Moonlight are ready to bring double the love and joy into their new home.Name: Lily - Apricot Purebred poodle (papers available) - age 4 1/2 years Moonlight - Black labradoodle - age 1 yr 9 monthsSex: FemaleWeight: Moonlight 50 lbs Lily 45 lbs.Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: Yes - have lived with several of all agesGood with Dogs: SelectiveGood with Cats: NoAdoption Fee: $800.00 Location of dog currently: New HampshireIMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue. Story
Who needs a Velcro dog???? Well, this describes Oswald to a T. His foster saved Oswald from a backyard breeder. He was a matted mess when his foster got him. He has gained over a pound since his foster took him to her home and is doing great. He is teeny, tiny, and small enough to be carried in a purse or a doggy bag. He is quiet and a little shy with new people, but once he knows them, he loves them. He is a great kisser, too. He desperately needs a person of his own. He is crate-trained and working on house training. He is dog and cat-friendly. This tiny guy would do great in a quieter home apartment for a single family. He would not do well in a hustle-and-bustle type of home. He is not living with children, and because of his timidness, we think an adult-only home or one with older children would be best. He is looking for his person to love. Are you that person? If so, Oswald is waiting!Name: OswaldBreed: Toy PoodleSex: MaleAge: 4 years  (estimated)Weight: 7lbsSpayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS: Good with Children: Over 12Good with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: UnknownAdoption Fee: $500.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently:  Texarkana Tx     IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. Story
To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application    HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see    HERE Age: 3 Years (as of 10/21/2024) Weight: 54 Lbs (as of 9/24/2024) This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Meet Poseidon – Your New Best Friend! Poseidon is a 3-year-old male Goldendoodle with a big heart and a love for fun! He’s happiest when playing fetch and can spend hours chasing after his favorite ball. His toy collection is his pride and joy, but his stuffed teddy bear is his absolute favorite. Though Poseidon gets along very well with other dogs, he tends to prefer the company of people. He’s friendly with adults and older children, though he hasn’t been tested around younger kids yet. He’s not a fan of cats, so a feline-free home would be best for him. Poseidon is crate-trained and does great when left alone, but he’s not too fond of being crated when people are home—though he tends to feel more comfortable if the crate is covered. He’s fully housetrained and knows his manners indoors. While Poseidon may pull a bit on leash during walks, he’s eager to learn and will benefit from some leash training. He may bark occasionally and can get a little anxious in the car, so he’ll need some patience and reassurance during rides. If you’re looking for a playful, loving, and loyal companion, Poseidon is ready to be your new best friend! If you're ready to welcome him into your home - apply to adopt him today! Medical Note:   This dog has tested positive for exposure to ehrlichia and showed symptoms consistent with an active infection.  This dog has been treated with a 28-day course of doxycycline and all symptoms have resolved.  This dog is ready for adoption, though may continue to test positive for exposure to ehrlichia for some time.  There is also a chance that the symptoms could recur and/or additional treatment be needed.  Please see  here  for more information on ehrlichia, and please check with your vet before you apply to adopt this dog if you have any questions or concerns about this medical history. An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see   HERE   for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website:   Adoption Application - SOS Animal Rescue League in Rhode Island (sosarl.org)   **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.September 27, 2024, 11:55 pm
