Story
Meet Pepper! Pepper is a 10 week old Standard Poodle mix who was saved from a commercial breeding facility in Lancaster county due not being sold quickly enough. Sadly, this happens all the time due to the alarmingly high amount of dogs that puppy mills are constantly producing. It is simply easier for them to give the older puppies up as their breeding mothers are producing litter after litter. This sweetheart is understandably shy and nervous at first, but is doing a great job learning to trust new people! As with all dogs we save from puppy mills, they will need a family who is understanding and prepared to work through a period of transition with them as they learn to live in a house and around people. They will need time to trust their new family before working on training, such as house training. We require all our animals to be trained using positive reinforcement methods ONLY. Puppy mill dogs tend to do best in a home without young children as well (10+), though this determination is made on a case by case basis. If you are interested in being considered for them please apply on our website at www.angelsretreat.org 💕🐾

Story
This sweet, handsome fella was roaming the city and county for a few months and no one could catch him. We were called in to help and within a few hours he was safe in our care thanks to a citizen helping man the traps. He is very sweet, friendly and loving but he definitely has a checkered past. He does not like to be left alone for too long and can get destructive. Like many dogs here in TN he was neglected to the point where he lost trust in humans. He has now learned that there are some really great humans and so he wants to be with you. He does like to play with other dogs and will do best in a home with another dog or 2 that are friendly and playful. He is also very young (we can only guess) so he needs an active family. He loves water, going for walks and is a great car rider. He does great with kids too. I think he would love a big, fun family to smother him with love and attention. He will need an adopter willing to work with his separation anxiety and help him get over that(there are lots of free resources). He is a Poodle, not sure if he is pure or a mix but he is going to require regular grooming. He is a high maintenance guy looking for the perfect home to meet his needs. If you are interested in our sweet Roman please visit funnyfarmpets.org where you can read all about our TN based rescue and how the adoption and transport process works. You will also find the link to submit the application. His adoption fee is $325 and if he has to be transported from TN where he is currently fostered there will be an additional $200 fee.

Story
Bailey is a 14-year-old mixed breed (pekapoo). He's black and white in color. Bailey was bought from a breeder at 8 weeks old. He's a sweet dog and likes to be by your side and sleep alongside with you. Bailey is spoiled- he loves chicken & rice and is always ready to eat. Bailey also eat Blue Buffalo dry and wet food. He does have a fear of the vet & groomers, so he needs special attention in that area. Bailey has arthritis and allergies, so he needs medication to help during the allergy seasons. He's neuter and house trained. Bailey would be a great dog for someone who stays at home, and he loves children. If you're looking for a sweet dog that just want to be loved and fed Bailey is for you!
