Story
Welcome to the Ellen Show! Im your host, Ellen! Im a friendly, playful, loving puppy with the cutest face to seal the deal. Even though Im still young, Ive been acing my basic skills training and socialization classes. Im super smart and would love to keep learning new cues, activities, and manners. Im already crate trained, potty trained, and know the basics of being a rockstar puppy citizen. Im still learning to control my energy and enthusiasm when playing with other dogs, so a tolerant and communicative pup pal would be ideal. I would also be happy as an only child with a family that can keep me active and stimulated. Ive shown some cat chasing tendencies, but its mostly playful, so I could learn to live with a dog savvy cat under the right circumstances. Because Im part St. Bernard, you can expect me to continue growing for a while. I might get big, but never too big to cuddle up in your lap and shower you in kisses. If you have a big, scruffy puppy shaped hole in your heart, come meet me and fall in love! I'm in a foster home, so please submit an application at animalaidpdx.org to set up a visit. Est. Story
Hello People! My name is Amelia, and I'm a 1-year-old poodle looking for a family to call my own. Like most poodles, I'm intelligent and eager to learn new things. I love doing zoomies in the backyard, tossing stuffies around, and following my foster sister's lead. I am crate and potty-trained, and working on basic commands. I will need continued instruction and socialization to be the best poodle around. My future human family will need to be patient and understand the importance of crate training because I like taking shoes, socks, and toys outside to chew on them. I'm a typical 1-year-old pup, and I'm hoping for a family who can be patient with me as I learn and grow. Since I had limited friends growing up, I need slow introductions to new dog pals and people. Sometimes, fast-moving little humans can make me nervous, but I've gotten used to the 13-year-old boy who lives in the house, especially since he likes giving me treats. I also want to make my presence known when going outside, and I need to be reminded not to bark and wake the neighbors up in the morning. The best part of my foster family is my foster sister, and if I can't live with her forever, I would like another well-adjusted fur friend in my new home. When deciding if I am the right fur baby for you, please consider the grooming routine and cost of caring for a Poodle. My foster mom thinks I am the sweetest girl who deserves to be loved and find my Match Made in Heaven!

Story
Meet Tristian, a charming older male Poodle mix who is looking for his forever home. Tristian is a sweet, playful, and affectionate companion who loves to shower his humans with love and attention. Despite his age, he has a youthful spirit and enjoys playtime as much as he enjoys cuddling on the couch. Tristian has a knack for sensing when someone needs a little extra comfort and is always there to offer a reassuring paw or a snuggle. His favorite activities include going for leisurely walks in the park and enjoying car rides with the windows down so he can feel the breeze on his face. Though Tristian is a wonderful dog, he may need some training to help him adjust to his new home and learn the ropes. Patience and consistency will be key in helping him settle in and become the best version of himself. When adopting a dog, here are a few things you can expect: Adjustment Period : Your new furry friend will need some time to get used to their new environment. Be patient and give them space to explore and feel comfortable. Training : Whether it's basic commands or house training, most dogs will need some degree of training. Positive reinforcement and consistency are essential. Routine : Dogs thrive on routine, so establishing a consistent schedule for feeding, walks, and playtime can help them feel secure. Healthcare : Regular vet visits, vaccinations, and preventive care are crucial to keep your dog healthy and happy. Exercise : Dogs need daily physical activity to stay healthy and burn off energy. Tailor the amount of exercise to suit Tristian’s age and breed characteristics. Socialization : Introduce your dog to new people, pets, and environments to help them become well-rounded and confident. Love and Attention : Most importantly, your new dog will need lots of love and attention. Building a bond with your pet is one of the most rewarding parts of adopting a dog. By opening your heart and home to Tristian, you'll be gaining a loyal and loving companion who will bring joy and happiness to your life. Their affectionate nature means they thrive on companionship and enjoy being pampered with love and attention. Breed Information French Poodle French Poodles are renowned for their intelligence and elegance. They are highly trainable and boast a dignified appearance with their iconic curly coats. Despite their refined looks, French Poodles are lively and require regular mental and physical stimulation to stay happy. They are known for forming strong, loyal bonds with their families and are often considered one of the most versatile dog breeds. What to Expect When Adopting Older Dogs Adopting older dogs like Star and Moon can be a wonderfully rewarding experience. Here's what you can expect: Established Temperament : Older dogs have settled personalities, so you'll know what to expect in terms of their behavior and temperament. Star and Moon's calm and affectionate nature is a testament to their well-established demeanor. Lower Energy Levels : While they still enjoy daily walks and playtime, older dogs typically have lower energy levels compared to puppies. Star and Moon will appreciate leisurely strolls and gentle play, but they are also content with quiet time and relaxation. Health Considerations : Regular veterinary check-ups are essential to monitor any age-related health issues. Older dogs may require specific dietary needs or supplements to maintain their health. Ensuring Star and Moon receive proper healthcare will keep them thriving in their golden years. Training and Socialization : Although they are well past the puppy stage, consistent training and socialization are still beneficial. Star and Moon may already have basic training, but gentle reinforcement of commands and continued socialization will enhance their quality of life. Deep Bonds : Adopting an older pair like Star and Moon means gaining two loyal companions who have already formed a strong bond with each other. They will bring a unique dynamic and a sense of completeness to your home. Welcoming Star and Moon into your life means embracing the joy of having mature, loving companions by your side.
