Story
Meet Moxie, a sweet and spunky girl with a heart full of love. Moxie came to Dog Tales after her previous family became overwhelmed by her medical needs. Unfortunately, Moxie has a neurological disorder that we’re currently investigating with the help of a fantastic neurologist. Early tests and imaging suggest an issue with her peripheral nerves, specifically the femoral nerve. Despite the challenges she faces, Moxie’s zest for life is undeniable. She adores going for walks and enjoys the company of everyone she meets! Due to her condition, Moxie needs some assistance with walking and can only manage short distances on her own. But she absolutely loves cruising around in her stroller, getting pets, and exploring the world at her own pace. Could Moxie be the perfect strolling companion for you?

Thank you for your interest in Hubert. He is such a fun loving, energetic, happy, barky boy. He loves people and dogs and life. Some of it he loves a little too much. Well, not too much for him but too much for other dogs. But he is really just a softee who wants to run and play and be chased. Running, bouncing, barking, playing, snuggling, hugging, what could be better?

Story
Oh, Boomer, you are a love and a frustration all rolled into one beautiful package. Boomer was sold to a family with young children during Covid and that meant he had a lot of people home all the time and didn't get much of the socialization he should have received. He did get a lot of company at home though! Unfortunately the young boy in the family fell ill, they needed to move and were unable to bring Boomer with them. That's how he came into our care. We've been taking out time getting to know him because as much as he is a lovely boy, he has his struggles too.

Story
Courtesy Post   This gorgeous girl is London the "Sheepadoodle".  London is a sensitive soul who has struggled to adapt to the loss of her canine roommate and moving homes.  Prior to the changes, she was able to be left alone with the other dog without barking or showing signs of anxiety.  Her owner feels it would be best if London was rehomed to a home that is better able to meet her needs.  Her ideal home would be a detached property with a fenced yard, someone home more often than not, and someone interested in continuing to work with her generalized anxiety, dietary needs, and allergies.  Another dog in the home would likely also be helpful for London and her new family.  She is an intelligent, active dog who require both physical and mental stimulation to thrive.  If you enjoy training and/or doing activities with your dog like brain games or scent work London would likely be a great fit for you!   Name: London Breed: Standard Poodle and Sheepdog Mix Weight: 60 pounds Gender: Female Spayed/neutered: Spayed Age: 2 years (DOB May 10/22) Obtained From: Farm near London that bred Sheepdogs and also bred a litter of Sheepdog/Poodle mixes. Reason for Rehoming: Owner has to go back to work in the office full-time and London is anxious when left alone.  London also has allergies and anxiety and her owner can not afford her ongoing care. Up to Date with Vetting: Yes Good with dogs: Yes.  She lived with a Golden mix previously.  She goes to the dog park most days and plays well with the other dogs there.  She is more comfortable with dogs her size or smaller.  On leash walks she may go to the end of the leash and bark at other dogs. Good with cats: She has not lived with a cat but visited a home with a cat and avoided the cat. Good with kids: She lives with a 12 year old and is good with them.  No experience with babies/toddlers.  She needs time to get comfortable with new people. Good with strangers: If a stranger comes to visit she will bark and avoid them.  It takes time for her to feel safe with visitors-usually one visit.  They have had better success with taking her outside when strangers visit and then having everyone come in the house.   Resource guarding issues: No Ever bitten a human: No Ever bitten a dog: No Fears: Described as anxious in general.  Strangers.  Being handled by strangers.  Car rides.  Going outside in the dark.  Being left alone. Housetrained: Yes.  Used to toileting on leash walks. Crate trained: They have a crate set up that she will go in and sleep in.  When boarded she was crated and did well in the crate but they have not used a crate regularly and have just reintroduced it.  She is anxious if they crate her and try to leave her alone. Good in the car: She drools and pants.  She does not drool if on anti-anxiety medication.  She was in a car accident when she was 6 months old and has been anxious in the car since. Bark when left alone: Yes.  When she was living with another dog and when she was boarded with other dogs she could be left alone without barking, however, now that the other dog is not living with her, she will bark when left alone.  They have had noise complaints.  They worked with a trainer and were able to work up to leaving her alone for an hour with minimal barking.  That seems to be the maximum time she can cope with being alone currently. Destructive: No. Energy Level: Medium high. Leash skills: She gets very excited to go for a walk and pulls all the way to the dog park.  On the way home she walks nicely.  She may run to the end of the leash and bark when she sees other dogs.  If it is dark she will alarm bark at strangers she sees outside.  She may also be afraid of cars on walks and keep turning around when strangers are walking behind them. Okay with physical handling/manipulations: She is professionally groomed.  Several groomers have said she is uncomfortable being groomed and may whip her head around during grooming.  Fluoxetine helped her cope with grooming and a new groomer recently said she was fine to groom.  She has needed ear drops and her owner could give them. Known commands: Sit, stay, come, lie down, wait, paw, wave. Food on now: Carna4 Lamb.  3 cups/day. Behavioural issues: Anxious/fearful.  Anxious and barks when left alone.  Afraid of strangers and being handled by strangers.  Afraid of the dark and anxious in the car. Medical issues: Allergies/sensitivities to some grooming products and dog foods.  They have tried various dog foods.  The current one agrees with her.  She is also on 16 mg of daily Apoquel.  She has previously taken Trazadone 100 mg for grooms and Fluoxetine 30 mg/day which did help.   March 9, 2025, 9:34 pm

Story
Quick Facts Name: Kong Age: 6 years old Gender: Male Spayed: Yes Breed: Poodle Colour: Black Weight: 6kg My Story Hi my future family! I’m Kong, a spirited little poodle, and I can’t wait to tell you all about me! I’m a black poodle boy, estimated to be around 6 years old, and I weigh a petite 6 kg (13 lbs). My journey to find a loving home hasn’t been easy. I was rescued from a place that pretended to rehome pets but was actually a harmful environment where dogs were mistreated. Thankfully, I’m now safe and ready to find my real forever family, where I can give all the love I have! My Social Side I’m a friendly little boy who loves people! I’m happy to approach both familiar faces and strangers, nudging them for pets and affection. I might be a little shy at first, but if you offer me a treat, I’ll warm up quickly and let you pet me all you want! I’m gentle and enjoy a good cuddle—especially after a nice walk or playtime. I might have a touch of separation anxiety, so I really appreciate having company as much as possible. I’m very sociable with other dogs and enjoy saying hello to both new and familiar furry friends. I’m all for playtime, but I also appreciate some calm introductions, as I can be a bit reactive if another dog challenges me. With friendly dogs, though, I’m all about the play and companionship! As for cats, I haven’t met any yet, so I’m not sure how I feel about them. My Energy Level & Walks My energy level is moderate—I enjoy my outdoor time but am also happy to relax afterward. I’ve got experience with leash walking, so I don’t pull and will follow you nicely on walks. I love to explore and sniff around, but I’m well-behaved and will keep up with you! Why You’ll Love Me I may be small, but I have a big personality! I’m good about sharing my food with humans, though I might give a gentle growl if another dog gets too close to my meal. I’m also house-trained, comfortable with both indoor pads and outdoor spaces. When I’m in my crate, I’m calm and happy to relax. Last Message I might need a bit of patience as I adjust, but with a warm, loving home, I’ll thrive. I’m looking for a family that can be there with me as much as possible and appreciates a devoted, friendly companion. If that sounds like you, I can’t wait to meet you and start our lives together! Story
Quick Facts Name: Lala Age: 12 years old  Gender: Female Neutered/Sprayed: Yes Breed: Poodle Color: Ivory Weight: 6 kg My Personality Hi, I’m Lala! I’m a sweet and gentle 12-year-old Poodle with a soft ivory coat and a heart full of love. Weighing 6kg, I may be a senior, but I still have so much warmth and companionship to offer. My journey hasn’t been easy—I was left at the Pyeongtaek shelter, where I waited for someone to come for me, but no one did. Thankfully, I was rescued just in time, and now, I’m hoping to find a peaceful and loving home where I can spend my golden years. I have a quiet and reserved nature at first, but I warm up quickly, especially if you have a treat for me. Once I feel comfortable, I enjoy soft pets and gentle cuddles, and I’m happy to be picked up. I’m not overly demanding—I’m just happy to be near my humans and enjoy their company. I love my nap time and appreciate a calm and predictable routine. While I may not be as playful as I once was, I still have a lot of love to give and enjoy simple joys like lounging by your side or exploring my surroundings at a slow and steady pace. Social Skills With people, I may take a little time to feel fully comfortable, but once I do, I bond deeply and will always be by your side. With other dogs, I get along best with those who are similar in size and temperament to me, especially fellow Poodles. However, I tend to feel uneasy around larger dogs and prefer to keep my distance. I have lived with a cat before, and while I don’t have a strong reaction to them, I’d need a proper introduction if I were to share my home with one again. Energy and Activities I have a moderate energy level. I enjoy gentle strolls and sniffing around outside, but I prefer calm and quiet environments. Loud noises and sudden movements can make me nervous, especially near busy streets. Sometimes, if I get scared, I may freeze or try to retreat, so I need a patient person to reassure me. I love my rest and relaxation time and will happily curl up in a cozy spot for a nap after my outings. Training and Habits I’m well-mannered and adapt easily to a home environment. I use both indoor pads and outdoor spaces for potty time, making me flexible to different setups. I am crate-trained and settle down nicely in my kennel when needed. While I’m usually quiet, once I become fully comfortable in a home, I may bark a little more, especially when I want attention or if something seems unfamiliar to me. When it comes to food, I don’t guard my meals from people, but if another small dog comes too close while I’m eating, I may let out a little growl to protect my space. My Ideal Home I’d thrive in a peaceful home with a loving and patient family who understands senior dogs. A quiet environment with gentle routines would be perfect for me. I wouldn’t mind having a small, calm dog friend—especially another Poodle—but I’d also be just as happy being the only dog in a home where I receive lots of love and care. If you’re looking for a sweet, easygoing companion who will quietly follow you around and bring warmth to your home, I might just be the perfect match for you. Special Notes I may be a senior, but I still have so much love to give! I bond well with fellow Poodles and small, gentle dogs, though I can be a bit protective of my food around tiny breeds. I love a relaxed lifestyle with plenty of nap time, and I appreciate a calm and stable home. While I’m not overly demanding, I will show my love in quiet, subtle ways, and I can’t wait to find a forever family who will cherish me just as much as I will cherish them. ##2300092##
