Story
Willie is a neutered, 3 year old Standard Poodle mix who is a playful, sweet boy.  He has transitioned very well into his foster home and away from a life of living outside full-time.  He loves to snuggle up on the couch and get endless pets. He thinks the bed is super fun and exciting and will definitely cuddle up to you. He will let you know he is happy and cozy by groaning often during his pets, naps and stretches! He is working well on his leash skills and only pulls for the first couple minutes from excitement and then does very well. He will bark when coming across another dog on a walk but does enjoy meeting other dogs and is super friendly. He enjoys playing with his foster sister often. He also barks when someone is at the door but greets them very well, occasionally will jump up on his favourite people for a hug but does well when told to stay down. Willie is fully house trained he will let you know he needs to go out and is learning to ring bells to ask.  He is crate trained and will settle in there nicely but can also be left alone at home and has not shown any destructive behaviour- just sleeps and waits for his people to return! Willie really is such a sweet loving dog, and is adjusting amazingly to his new indoor life not being afraid of anything and always happy ready for what's next. He loves to run so would be a very good active dog for the right family! Weight: 65 pounds December 30, 2025, 8:48 pm

Story
Mags is a young, bright, emotionally big Standard Poodle who has had a busier start to life than most. She grew up in homes that cared about her, but none were quite equipped to manage her energy, her enthusiasm, or her tendency to become overstimulated. After finding herself in a shelter—confused, over-aroused, and unsure how to channel all her excitement—Mags came into SPIN’s care so she could finally get the structure and support she has always needed. She is an affectionate, social girl with a lot of love to give, but she experiences the world at full volume. New places, new people, and outdoor environments can cause her arousal to spike quickly, which leads to jumping, grabbing, and mouthy behaviour. None of this comes from a place of aggression—Mags simply hasn’t been shown how to regulate her emotions. Now that she’s in foster care and beginning to decompress, we’re finally getting to know the real Mags.

Story
Henry didn’t lose his home because he was unloved. In fact, he was adored. But sometimes life blindsides good people with impossible choices. After the arrival of a new baby, his owner’s allergies—previously manageable—intensified dramatically. Living together became unsafe and unworkable, and with heartbreak, she made the decision to surrender Henry so he could have the life he deserves.

Story
Thank you for your interest in Mozart. Some dogs get every opportunity. Mozart is not one of them. Despite his sweetness, loyalty, and gentle nature, life has handed this beautiful Standard Poodle the short end of the stick far too many times. He has been owned, surrendered, adopted, returned, adopted again, returned again, transferred to SPIN, moved between fosters, adopted once more — and then returned yet again. Each time, Mozart tried. Each time, he bonded. And each time, humans let him down. When a Quebec shelter reached out for help after his second return, we knew we had to step in. Beneath his stress and confusion, there was a wonderful dog whose emotional needs simply weren’t being met. Once in our care, we discovered he was a purebred Standard Poodle with a heart bigger than his struggles — and a history that finally needed to change. Today, Mozart has been with dedicated, experienced fosters for two months. He is decompressing, learning, and showing us exactly who he is when he feels safe and understood.

Story
Ollie and Lulu were surrendered to us when their owner no longer had the time to care for them. They both had untreated medical issues and severe dental disease, leaving them extremely uncomfortable and lethargic. After receiving treatment they became almost entirely different dogs. Ollie and Lulu may be seniors but they sure do like to go for walks and run around the yard together. They are a volunteer favourite because of their goofy and sweet dispositions. They are selective with dogs and would only do well in a home with another calm dog that does not intimidate or become rough with them. Ollie does bark at other dogs in passing, while Lulu ignores them. Ollie and Lulu would do well in just about any home. They have been great with respectful children that are experienced with dogs. Lulu can sometimes have grumpy moments when she wants her space to nap. It's important to look for the obvious signs when she needs alone time. Ollie is always happy and ready for a cuddle. This cute duo have great house manners, they frequently go on sleepovers with our dedicated volunteers who report they are always on their best behaviour.
