Story
SPIN received a call for help with three Standard Poodles whose owner had fallen on hard times and could no longer care for them. We were happy to bring them in, and that's how we met Jersey. From the moment she arrived, we noticed her red, irritated, and flaky skin, along with some hair loss and uneven regrowth. But none of that mattered—we loved her at first sight!

Story
Thank you for your interest in Moss. We love this dog! He was a bundle of nerves and, well, his first few days weren't not calming. Moss was so scared and when he got out of the car that delivered him to his foster home he panicked and ran away. Thankfully there were some fields and some cows and Moss decided it would be a nice place to hang out. We put out a few, ok, several, calls and everyone in the area knew he was missing. A trap was set and after several days Moss went into the trap. He was safe! Now we just had to get him out of there and we didn't know how he would react, but Moss showed his first signs that he was an awesome dog because once his foster got inside the trap with him, he relaxed and let her take him out and take him home.

Story
Thank you for your interest in Cesar. He is a handsome, three year old standard poodle who is just about as sweet as can be. He is fun and happy and loves to run and when you meet him you'll wonder how he ever landed up in a rescue, but we can tell you more about that. You see, Cesar was in a Quebec shelter. He moves a little bit funny and he sometimes will want to keep items away from you and these things are not great attributes for a shelter dog. The vet assessed him as having mild hip dysplasia and osteoarthritis. Poor boy was set to be euthanized because shelters are full and who would want a broken poodle? We do!!! The shelter called SPIN to ask if we could help and we couldn't say no! He's easy to work with and he's smart so we've been having all kinds of fun with him. We love him and we know you will too.

Story
Thank you for your interest in Tatu. He's cute, he's fun, he's a little anxious. Tatu has moved quite a lot in his short life and now he is looking for his permanent place to call home. When we first welcomed Tatu into SPIN he was in a constant hyper vigilant/anxious state. Change can be hard on a dog and Tatu had experienced a lot of change in his short life. We neutered him and discovered that he was nervous around big dogs. On the advice of our trainers and veterinarians, we started him on fluoxetine to support his anxiety management. It took approximately 1 month to decompress but then he calmed down quite a bit and showed us just how sweet he is.

Story
Thank you for your interest in Salem. Some dogs are born into loving homes and then purchased by owners who adore them. Others are not and that is Salem's story. Salem was a disappointment because he wasn't perfect. He pulled on leash and chased the cats and he was bouncy and playful and a little mouthy and he growled at his owner when they tried to punish him. For four years this was his life and then he came to us. We loved him right away. Everyone who met him liked him immediately! What a smart, cuddly pup! Of course, we are all poodle people and all we could say to him was, "Welcome home, buddy!"

Story
Thank you for your interest in Paco. He is a sweet boy who is ready to leave his difficult beginnings behind and find a family that will give him the love and care he deserves. His journey hasn't been easy - born in a barn and bounced between homes - but despite it all, Paco's heart remains full of hope. Paco was dumped and a lovely woman took him in. She was able to find homes for most of his siblings but Paco and Pickles remained looking and she asked for our help. Of course we said "Yes!"
