Story
Pretty Girl was posted on social media for nearly a week wandering around the streets of Lodi, not letting anyone approach her or catch her. Finally, the dog shelter was able to get her, and she was transferred to us. Pretty Girl came in looking as if she escaped mid-groom. She was half shaved, but the parts that weren't shaved were covered in dense matting, burs, and dirt. She also had 2 severe raw wounds on her neck and armpit that could have been from clippers. During our groom to try and make her more comfortable, she sat completely still. Even though a groom likely inflicted some of her current injuries, she was so calm and patient while we worked on helping her feel a little bit better. Typical of a poodle, she is very smart, and she seems to listen well. She is a little bit shy and reserved, but she just needs time to build up trust to blossom into the wonderful dog we know she can be! Pretty Girl has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and has tested neg. for heartworm which is included in the adoption fee. If you would like to adopt this dog, you must come into the shelter for a meet and greet. We are open 12-4. (Closed Mondays & Wednesdays)
